Another Encoder Disk or Encoder Strip issue (all dependant on what way you are printing).
If it as it comes out of the machine it is a Encoder Disk issue (the one on the side of the machine).
If it is appearing left to right it is the encoder strip.
Clean very very gently with denatured alcohol...
We now give the option that no job gets even looked at unless 50% or full payment is taken.
I have been burnt and out of pocket too many times now to expect any less.
Please remember as a signmaker we are not a bank or finanance company so we should not be treated as one.
If the customer/client...
I would clean around the print head, wiper and capping station.
Make sure their is plenty ink in the machine.
Then leave it on stand by and set to clean every 12 hours.
I assume you always leave it on stand by anyway as it is always supposed to be on stand by when not in use and never turned...
I have seen similair issues and it could also be the pump or pump lines blocked.
Can you see the ink flowing in both the drain pipes?
I have seen the pump lines so blocked it needed dismantled and cleaned.
The ink blocks in the lines and comes out like pencil lead.
I put a little cleaning fluid...
Just one thing, when changing the printhead also replace the head cable with a genuine one.
As far as printheads go 5 years is the maximum and should of been changed well before that.
When I was looking in the UK for a head the prices didn't vary that much, but $1200 is almost half what I paid...
I thought I had this one but it turns out I don't.
As per normal it looks so familiar but I don't have it.
Designers always try to find the most hidden and obscure fonts!!!

We also have a 1604 and have owned it from new and is coming up 6 years old now.
Tried a whole lot of vinyl through it and the best is Oracal by far.
Honestly some of the time it felt like the suppliers had no idea of profiles and heat settings for the materials they were selling.
It has been a...
Yes I realise the font choice was awful.:Big Laugh
I was just mainly trying to show what text their was to be in the logo.
The logo just needs wording no pictures etc.
I am trying to get it looking like a old UK sign written truck.
No swooshes etc.
I like Jills ideas but it just isn't old time...
I have a customer with a pickup truck from the 60s/70s and we are trying to make his logo look kind of traditional signwritten.
Can anyone help as I am really struggling on this one?
Have a look at my atempt!!
The vehicle is a cream colour and the colour requirements are Burgundy, Red, Gold and...
I will turn this around a bit.
I worked in a small city in the UK and the area was rated by some of the sign material suppliers as having the most sign makers per square mile in the country.
If I said competition was fierce, that is an understatement!
My previous employer sells jobs for peanuts...
This is not worth the effort for one 4x4.
The customer will have to realise the artwork is not good enough.
I reckon 2-3 days work redrawing of the artwork you have been supplied.

Very Interesting.
Is that a single DX5 head installed in that machine?
It looks like it has the space and the provision for an extra head in there.
What inks it running?

We have had on going issues with a supplier on material that was having similair issues.
I've been through over 15 rolls of material all with the same issues.
We knew it wasn't the printer as it prints other suppliers material perfectly.
