Sometimes you can get later versions opening in earlier if you remove some of the fades and special effects which are available on later versions. The only real issue with exporting is you cannot re-edit the text. SC

Also this is from personal experience do not upgrade the firmware? The firmware upgrades are mainly used so you have to use OEM ink in the machine. Their are very little updates as to the running of the machine in the firmware updates so leave it at 1.19. SC

That firmware is nearly 5 years old and they stopped making 1604s about 4 years ago. SC
