  1. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

Right now Canon is verbally saying "the only time there is a smell is if the ink is not cured properly". Their operation manual says to handle improperly cured prints with gloves and to dispose of them (although the manual makes 0 mention of smell, in the manual "smudging" is how you can tell...
  2. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

I get returns because some customers say transfer tape (nekoosa 775) smells like cigarettes (paper transfer tapes do have a smell that resembles old cigarettes depending on humidity I think). Even explaining that the transfer tape will be thrown away after application is not satisfactory. Here...
  3. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

Yes I got an installation prep guide and an inspection. In the guide it mentions a certain required air turnover. The smell during printing is not an issue, I can deal with that Smelly prints are an issue and my customers will not accept a disclaimer or getting hit with a chemical smell when...
  4. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

I agree I can improve airflow, add some exhaust fans, I can lessen smell during printing. Not the biggest issue. One issue I have is there was no mention of this during site inspection, not cool on Canons part. Products smelling is tougher issue to get around and my customers will not...
  5. UV Printer & Prints Making us Sick

OH NO! smelly for a week? I just bought a Colorado and had my first full day with it and I have to say WOW the prints are smelly. Profiles etc are all good, set up during training, everything great except the smelly prints which is unacceptable as my wallpaper/mural products are printed and...
  6. After a decade of Versaworks I tried Onyx....

In versaworks I use the tabs for lets say: Tab A: stuff that comes in and how to be printed NOW , Tab B: files I print repeatedly on certain days of the week, Tab C: repeating files I print every Friday Tab D, files for a certain product we make - all the files are ripped and one click away...
  7. After a decade of Versaworks I tried Onyx....

Not really the same thing, I can't have 5 different tabs in onyx with files 1 click away from printing that can be printed at any time without messing with settings or "recycling"
  8. After a decade of Versaworks I tried Onyx....

Onyx Thrive 422 and I have to say I was expecting way more out of it compared to free Versaworks. UI and rip time is better in Versaworks. 5 print queues in versawork are very convenient. but of course versaworks only works with roland printers. props to versaworks I always though other paid...
  9. New Equipment Day!

I hated my Summa S2T , glad it broke about 6 months ago. I knew the machine wasn't going to be great after the plastic pinch wheel lever broke after 6 months of use, it worked about 5 years, very picky with the blade settings and seems like 1/5 summa blades were duds and tips would chip off...
  10. Discussion How to handle others' mistakes when outsourcing printing?

Now are you located in Brazil and the company you are using is also in Brazil? Quality standards can vary by country, I would bet for most jobs banding and ink drops are ok in Brazil. The other mistakes probably shouldn't be happening but I think if you are in Brazil the previous answers don't...
  11. New Equipment Day!

I LOVE my 4 Graphtecs, about to add another one. I use the graphtec barcodes and loading the files onto a USB for print/cut and it is so easy, you just print a roll and then the graphtec doesn't even need a computer to cut.
  12. Never imagined I would be buying this!

Are paneling in Onyx? I'm currently paneling in illustrator and with the templates I have set up it's quick but going to try out Onyx paneling to see how it compares
  13. Never imagined I would be buying this!

My shop is 3000 sq ft and space, while tight isn't an issue when things are organized. I plan on selling 2 of my other printers and that will free up some space. there is a spacious 2000 sq ft if I point the camera in the other direction. I can at least double my revenue out of the current space
  14. Never imagined I would be buying this!

I didn't have any panel issues or problems with reprints matching with my rolands other that too slow. I printed 3 rolls on the 1650 so far while waiting for training and I'm blown away by the speed
  15. Never imagined I would be buying this!

Colorado 1650, Installed last week and training this week but I spent all day yesterday messing around with it and got some jobs printed. Super fast. Was a very tough choice between Epson 60600 especially considering you can buy 4+ epsons for the price but went with the Colorado after seeing...
  16. Which Machine to Buy

I have 2 rolands sg2 (had to get sg2 because vg2 was out of stock) going trouble free 8hrs per day for over a year, 10k sqft each printer each month. 100% trouble free and they paid for a canon coloado 1650 that will be phasing the rolands out starting next week.
  17. How to calculate cutting vinyl time and price ??

It's a good idea to have a minimum charge, even cutting a couple of circles might take 30 min total time (communication, changing material, etc. What's that time worth to you, $50? $100?. My minimum varies on how busy I am. Most orders I just "eye ball", see the design, size, qty, complexity...
  18. voc air filtration

I used 2 of these when I printed out of the house: https://www.amazon.com/IQAir-MultiGas-Purifier-Medical-Grade-HyperHEPA/dp/B00069EGA0 The air is so crisp and fresh
  19. Help me understand these specs....

If you are comparing the Ce7000 to the GX24 these specs are the absolute last thing you should worry about, those specs are useless in a practical sense. The Graphtec is a much better machine
