I know this is old, but I had a similar question I was able to answer for myself. The ES-2000 photospectrometer is EFI's licensed version of the X-Rite i1Pro 2, and using the drivers for it allowed it to work in Onyx for profiling & calibration. I cannot confirm you can use X-Rites software...
Find the font in your Windows font folder and see if it's greyed out, which means it's "Hidden". If so, just right click on it to bring up the context menu and then click "Show". (at least in windows 7)
It's an option on the printer. I'm unsure on the JV3 but on the JV33's interface it's: Function > Setup > Type (choose which user type) > Drying Time .. And then adjust the "Scan" time
It should be noted that this only works if the AI files are saved with the "Create PDF Compatible File" option checked.
If I am creating complicated files, or files that have lots of linked (placed) objects, I don't usually tick that option because it increases file size.
What are people using the color-fill carved HDPE? I was always under the impression nothing really stuck to HDPE but I've seen it in a few places now.

I don't know about the L25500, but on the L26500 this can be corrected with the "Straightness Optimization" setting. It's worked for me, but I didn't have 1/4" skew.

Inkjet receptive discs work nicely, but it's a desktop inkjet so it's not waterproof.
Laser labels are great. If you can find the discs with shiny on both sides (like uncoated tops) then being too thick won't be a problem, but the coated top discs plus labels tends to bother some automated feed...
