Since I'm here anyway... having some issues with a new piece of equipment. We have a Mutoh 661UF that we are just now starting to utilize regularly with the VerteLith RIP. We print mostly onto acrylic. We've noticed that if we start a run of signs and don't finish them the same day, the color...
We are looking to purchase what is supposed to be an Adobe font called Abbey-small caps, however it does not appear on their web site so I'm not at all sure it is an Adobe font (or a current one at least). It is NOT the font called "Abbey" on DaFont and elsewhere. This is a serif font with a...
Do any of you know a vendor that supplies these ADA signs? Construction is green glass acrylic, brushed alum numbers, alum front plate w/braille and alum back piece. 2 bolts go through the acrylic and back piece for mounting - front plate covers them. Any help is appreciated.
Does anyone recognize this font? Font Squirrel and What the Font didn't work at all and the great and mighty Google didn't help either. Thanks for any help.
Avery discontinued its A9 Translucent color 466c (9252T) which is a Khaki color. I cannot find any type of close match to it in either 3M or Oracal. My problem is that it was used on a big multi-panel directory sign as a background image that spans all the panels and we have to replace sections...
I've found several fonts that are close but on most of them the "M" is different. Anyone have any ideas on what it actually is? They look to be the same family.
Our LED display on the cutter fried out - it is unreadable now. Does anyone know where we can buy a new display? The cutter works fine - it appears to have affected only the display. We've been using it so long, we know the buttons to push to cut - but it's a real pain in the you-know-where. Any...
Does anyone recognize this font? Not even sure if it is a font or just part of a logo. I need to replace the R and L but don't have a straight on view to recreate to match the other side. Thanks for any help!
We've noticed a trend with some of our clients. They are moving to "payment management system" vendors that require we register with the vendor and then pay a fee ($100-$250) annually to continue to do business with them. I'm assuming payment comes from that vendor and not our actual client, but...
How long does it generally take your shop to generate an initial proof for a job? We proof everything out, but sometimes I feel like we take too long. How about once you've received approval.. how long before you actually install a wall sign or window lettering (or similar signs that don't...
One of our PC computers that is running Illy CS5 has suddenly decided to gray out text when we are moving it or when we are viewing in outline mode. I know it is a setting somewhere that got changed, but since I didn't do it... I have no idea how to change it back. I consulted the Great and...
I was wandering through the stats here on Signs101 and ran across this page (picture below) of the top posters here. Of the top ten... three of them are no longer with us. What a loss for the sign community in general and one that I feel deeply in my heart...
RIP Jesse Hill... you were such a...
I need to match this exactly. The ITC Garamond that I thought it was does not have the bottom serif of the "E" at an angle like this one does. And the ones that I've found with the "E" like it is supposed to be does not have the curved "R" like this. Help anyone? Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
Just had an issue while printing imagvue perf film. The guys got on site and the prints were about 1/2" - 3/4" shorter than they were supposed to be. This did not happen in trimming. Prints were to be 75" and one printed 74.5" and the other was a little shorter. RIP (Versaworks) shows...
