  1. Proofing Help

We do a lot of "design" work in Onyx. Cropping, scaling, bleeds, things like that. Easier for us to just do it on the fly, then rip and print. In the past, if we needed to show any additional pdf proofs, we would have to go through our prepress department, we were just hoping to cut that step...
  2. Proofing Help

Okay, I hope my "stupid" doesn't show here. I am running a trial version of Onyx 12.2 at the moment while we consider upgrading from the ancient 10.2 we have been on for about 5 years. One of the features we were hoping to find is the ability to create a PDF proof from job editor to send to...
  3. Wrap help

Thank you for the suggestion. That is our thought process at this point. We just hate the thought of having to buy a template up front, just for square footage to bid. If we can get the job, a subscription to PVO seems like a no brainer! Thanks again, Jason L. Hamilton
  4. Wrap help

    Great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Wrap help

Hello all!!!!! We are slowly trying to make the jump from wall murals to include vehicle wraps in our shop. We have done a grand total of....ONE. That one was done with a ton of help from one of our peers here locally. We have the oppritunity to bid another job finally. We are trying to bid on...
  6. Product suggestion...

That really is my main concern. With not knowing what is up, and not knowing how it was prepped/installed, I'm worried the product underneath will fail and then I look bad.... I don't want to order a whole roll of DPF just for this little job, so I think I'm going to use the IJ40 I have in stock.
  7. Product suggestion...

Good morning all, I'm looking for suggestions for a product replacement. I have been using Arlon DPF8000 for a couple of years for a large client. The product was picked by the customer, who was kind of a "middle man", who did installs for the end user nation wide. We recently stopped...
  8. Vinyl for wall murals

We had a client that we did a ton of call centers for. Same basic thing. Didn't care about damage, but wanted to make sure it stayed put! The installer requested Arlon DPF 8000. A little unforgiving on the installer, but once it is up, it is not coming down without the drywall!!!!!
  9. L26500 Print Quality Issue (Vertical banding, thermal maybe?)

Late to the game....as usual... HP recommended that I move the temp. offset to 9 when I was having some issues. Also, as others noted, increase pass and lower the temp.
  10. Install question

AWESOME!!! Thank you folks for the quick replies!
  11. Install question

I have recently started doing installs for some of the things I have printed in our wide format area, with moderate success. The largest piece I have installed was 14 tiles over about 55 feet. I was pleased over all with my line up, but it was not perfect. Luckily, this particular piece was...
  12. HP L260 (26500) - Take-up reel jam

I've had this problem a few times myself on my L26500. If the take-up reel in enabaled but not in use, it will cause a "jam". Just make sure the take-up is disabled in the substrate menu. At least that was the cause in my situation. Hope it helps.
  13. Marine Grade Coating.....

Here are the specs on the materials I am printing on. I'm worried that all the other coatings that are on it already, I'm going to have problems. Flame Retardant: Classified as self-extinguishing according with SAE J 369 Jan. 94. Manufactured to meet motor vehicle standard 302 and California...
  14. Marine Grade Coating.....

A little help here please! I have a client that builds custom boat seats. He supplied me with a sample of the material he uses to test on. I have managed to print on the material using an HP L26500 and the prints look MUCH better than I thought. What I want to do now is add a protective coating...
  15. Liquid Laminate for Canvas Prints

A little late to the party.... We have neen using Eco PrintShield by Premier Art for about 9 months. Great stuff! We have been using the gloss to coat with and it is a breeze to apply. my .02 Jason
  16. Wait.....WHAT??????

I never thought about trying that.....wow. . . . . . :banghead: We use the 15oz for our banner stands. I've only printed double sided once, and never even thought "hey, Jason, why not flip the material over and see if it still happens........" I forget that this material can print on both...
  17. Wait.....WHAT??????

It seems to be at least some on every roll. It has been very frustrating. HP wants to blame the substrate. My vendors say it has to be HP since it has happened on Key and Ultraflexx. This buck is getting really crumpled from all the passing!
  18. Wait.....WHAT??????

Let me know what your thoughts are on Value. We are back to shopping around. Does anyone here have any thoughts on Foward banner. Some folks mentioned that before on another post of mine. Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Wait.....WHAT??????

But not just some materials. ONLY on 15oz. banners. I printed 2 yesterday morning back to back. First one was fine. Halfway through the second one, streaks!!! Then I spent the rest of the day trying to make them go away. I would start printing and see it in the first couple of passes and cancle...
  20. Wait.....WHAT??????

Snydo, Would it cause the problem but then clear up and come back. Also, I get the same issue in the exact same location on two seperate machines. I have an HP tech coming out to check my printers ust to be on the safe side, but I just really have no idea what could be causing this issue...
