DXF all the way, autocad tends to treat circles as very small straight lines connected together to form a circle which makes routing a pain and not always very smooth
AXYZ 6010 (10 ft x 6.5 feet bed) , basically go for the biggest bed you can afford and have room for - you won't regret it! and decent vacuum and a auto tool height sensor are a must. the rest such as auto tool change etc are nice to have but not critical
You could probably get away with doing it a few times but eventually it would snap. Was made and designed as a permanent display but the base has a fairly narrow footprint around 1 foot deep max - as I recall
The only thing you can take away from this for next time is to investigate potential issues and typical warranties for a given product - easy enough to find on the internet.
Then make sure they are put into your quote. eg warranties for printed apparel are limited to 2 months or 2 washes...
we use these for both letters and for panels - if a panel we just put lots of them on the back circa 1ft apart You use a 2 pack adhesive and the fixings don't fail. Only downside is the plastic cups to start to perish after about 8 - 10 years so make sure you remind them to replace the cups in...
we route magnet all the time - we use a 3mm carbide tool and just a standard path. The main thing is to seal the edges of the magnet against the table with some gaffer so the vacuum is maximised.
I would get 2 inch ally angle cover the outside face in white vinyl, screw it in on to the inside of the box so the flat is against the inside face of the panel then slide my panels in and use some screws every 300 mm or so along the acrylic into the ally angle. paint them out white (play with...
So true, alongside the one I got the other day on version 6 of his can we just try the colour in this, that and the other, we then settle on a design only for him to email me and say "My Managing Director is back and he wants this - (totally different design) so back to square 1 - I then tell...
We made the move from Artcam (discontinued by autocad :( ) to VCarve Pro, great software excellent tutorials and resources including high quality purchasable files
Use a ceramic tile drill, they work like magic, They can go through 10mm holes in one go on 5mm acrylic with no risk of shattering, best discovery i made about 15 years ago never used anything else since
We don't have a sandblasting setup, so in the first instance was hoping I could do it with my existing kit. We don't get large volumes just occasional enquiries.
Does anyone have any experience CNC routing slate or granite? we have an AXYZ cnc router and currently sub this work out, just wondered if it can be done on our router and if so what settings and what tools etc? I am thinking in terms of V Carving, rather like we would do for wood signs plus of...
I'm no expert on the metals and their respective benefits but my one comment is that many Cathedrals in the UK have brass rubbings and plates mounted into the floors that go back many centuries and apart from the wear they get from people carrying out rubbings on them they still look great
