The red line that the two ribbons sit on is straight.

The line underneath the name is squiggly. Get rid of the squiggly line - it conflicts.

Also possibly go to a standard but light font for the word "Menu".

Its not finished but thats about it

I have a few words to had on the bottom like the first version...

For the rest I really hesitate for adding more graphic elements

The second one is easier to read, but the different sized boxes and no uniform to the spacing makes it look amateurish to me.

Does it have to be one big menu board? Or can it be made into smaller signs (one for each headline)?

Looks better Zazz, a lot easier to read. I like that you got rid of the comic sans!
I agree with fenris that the boxes look awkward... need some aligning to eachother.

My concern is why is it of different proportion compared to the first design? This one is vertical, the first one was horizontal.

Easy enough to read but Fenris has a good point. It would look more professional if the boxes related to each other in some way.
