  1. 54 or 63

54" Summa I'm getting ready to sell my 54" Summa D140. I have been very happy with it. I can't say I used the extra size too much, but it was always nice having options. I just don't have enough work to keep it at this point.
  2. Illustrator file gradient issues

I figured out why my printer was doing this: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?p=869600&posted=1#post869600
  3. GS6000/Colorburst - Gradient Background Not Smooth

I figured out the fix, but not the issue. I had created a custom profile (environment) and when I use that environment in Colorburst I don't get smooth transitions in my gradients. I tried the canned profile for the type of vinyl I'm using (IJ35) and the gradient looks fine. Weird.
  4. GS6000/Colorburst - Gradient Background Not Smooth

Hi guys I'm printing a gradient fade from white to light blue as the background on my image. Image created in Illustrator. The blue fade makes a big color jump from light blue to darker blue without fading smoothly. I've exported to PDF and EPS formats from Ai. Same thing though the color...
  5. GS6000 - Logo Length Not Matching

That really adds alot of waste when using expensive media like ij180. I like the suggestion to fully engage the lever. That makes sense. Just not sure why letting it print down to the take up would be a problem, but if you say it will help of course I will try. Do you think it could be the...
  6. GS6000 - Logo Length Not Matching

The graphic was from illustrator on a full size artboard. It was split automatically in Colorburst. The printer is new and this is the first large seamed print done on it.
  7. GS6000 - Logo Length Not Matching

Hi guys I printed a 97" circle (logo) on my GS6000 on 54" IJ180. Colorburst printed the left half (seam edge to the right) then the right half (seam edge to the left) of the logo with a 1/2" overlap. One side turned out to be 1/4 inch longer (top to bottom along the seam) than the other...
  8. Laminate?

Thanks. It's white vinyl. The purpose is to cover the gloss differential caused by removal of the old lettering.
  9. Laminate?

Hi guys. Just wondering if it's ok to wrap a box truck with unlaminated 3M 180 series without laminate. Is it necessary to laminate this stuff? What's the downside of not doing so? PS the material is not printed. It's just being used to cover the surface and then cut vinyl will go over the top.
  10. Upgrade Cutter?

Thanks much Fred. That makes my decision a little easier.
  11. Upgrade Cutter?

Hi guys My cutter requires multiple passes if you want to do a standard cut and then do a flex/perf cut. I'm looking at the new 54" or 64" SummaCut series which will do both a standard cut and a flex cut in the same pass. I fabricate for a sign company who is really just a marketing...
