When you say chart, are you referring to a 'Swatch Table'? A palette of colors in the design screen?

I changed my spit pad, cleaned my wiper, around the head and around the cap top. Used cleaning solution on the wiper with a lint free cloth and a swab on the cap top. Then I went back and used a cloth to wipe any left over solution.

I've had this same thing. For me, I had cleaning solution left from a cleaning on the bottom the head and it would drip or shoot down with the ink. Left little white specks all over. Cleaned everything real good and it cleared up.

You didn't mention anything about the capacitors. Did you check them? As for your fuse, is it removable or "hardwired" onto the board?

Don't forget. There are water based and solvent DX5 printheads. Maybe even others. No telling how soon you'll be replacing the your head if you stick a water based head in a solvent machine.

That's old software. Newer cutters and printers won't be available and the manufacturers won't help you get new drivers in old software because they aren't stable. And be careful with that 8.1 Flexi. A buddy of mine had 8.1 and it was a cracked copy. Did some weird stuff. Hope you get it going.
