  1. Anyone stop accepting credit cards?

I love credit cards, they don't bounce like cheques. Not a fan of the customer that says a cheque is coming, then after 60+ days you go after them and they say... "oh can I put it in cc?" Invariably, I'll say yes - because it's money in the bank virtually instantly.
  2. S40600 is amazing!

My employees seem to really not like it. Noticeably worse than the S30 in my opinion. We have 2000 sq.ft, all open, 3 ceiling fans. I agree, sometimes smells can come from just heating up vinyl.. but for the S40, it's the inks that bother us.
  3. S40600 is amazing!

The S40 is a great machine. But I disagree with you on two points: - prints come out dry(ish) but scratch resistance is zero - it smells, smells bad - print a full roll heavy coverage, you won't be happy with the smell
  4. What' going on? Avery MPI 1105 Supercast EZRS/ DOL 1060Z

Would be fun to wrap a car... installer says "hey what lam did you use, this is gooey..". You answer: "should be fine... I mixed it to whole milk consistency"
  5. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

I think that's the idea with air release... when done properly one person should be able to apply 4'x8' one person - dry. All you really have to do is start straight. Same thing with wall mural panels, start straight, end straight.
  6. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

Just curious, for what reason would you apply it "all the time wet" ? I had another shop help me with some signboards, and he applied some wet... no issues 5 years later, so I know it's OK if you get all the liquid out.
  7. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

Didn't realize it was you. Nothing wrong with the video, but in my experience the big squeegee is much faster with same results.
  8. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

This guy needs to try the big squeegee.
  9. Big Batch 5 Mil Matte Bubble Free 54"x150' $75!!

Great price - here's the catch: it's defective!! Ouch
  10. Wall mural with no overlap, butt registration?

Once you cut in the wall, you've created an edge in the paint. That's been my experience.
  11. Wall mural with no overlap, butt registration?

Have you actually done this and had good results?
  12. Inconsistent print lengths - SureColor S50675

Wow, 1/2" ? That's amazingly bad. I haven't seen it that bad at all, always less than 1/8" for 10ft panels, but I'm going to start measuring more. When doing vinyl, we can make things line up. But I understand with wallpaper (which I don't do), you need your panels to be very consistent.
  13. Vinyl removal...

When you pay the remover/installer big bucks, you want to see him painstakingly remove letters slowly... yep. That's why when I'm leaving site the customer is saying... "What? You're done already? That's all the time it took?" Moze is a pro no doubt, and I like his videos tips. And I now know...
  14. Vinyl removal...

Hi Moze, Lots of windows. Always read your posts, you have great installation info. I just can't see doing this on flat glass, don't take it the wrong way. With more than 3 lines of copy, I would have already put the new vinyl up and would be getting in the truck, while you're still peeling...
  15. Vinyl removal...

Nice, Looks like that wallpaper steamer attachment works well. But... A bit of elbow grease, grease remover and a scraper would make short of that job and get all the letters off way quicker? Have not damaged glass with a window scraper yet.
  16. Epson surecolor S80600 ink dry time? vs Ecosol Max 2

My S40 inks do scratch easily as well. Not sure about the comments saying GS3 ink is 'indestructible'.. I laminate almost everything. I have a pebble textured material I use for rollups... it seems to protect from scratching. I could see how you would have issues with unlaminated prints..
  17. Need Help Uneven color Epson S40

Looks like it's darkening right at the edge for you. I just did a mural with light gray background and I *think* I see a bit of shading (as described in the dreamscape pdf that DSGI posted - thank you!!!). It's very minimal in my case, but after that I will be flipping my tiles. Never saw the...
  18. 3M MCS Certified Printer Suggestions

Were the color fading issues with cmyk or the extra inks that the s70 had (I think it might have been orange that was the culprit)? I have signs out there with an s30, 5 years, no signs of fading at all. But I did hear about a local shop that did wraps with the s70 and ran into issues.
  19. Question about butt seams

knifeless on phototex? will have to try, but I'm not sure it will work.
