  1. Free Jv3-160sp With Head Issues Worth The Investment?

Absolutely. Weren't they replaced by the JV33 series in 2008? And the 33 series has been replaced with the 300 series. If the printer was fully functional and they were giving it away, that'd be one thing- but why would you want to dump money into something that's obsolete on the off chance you...
  2. Where to buy Ronan Lettering Enamel?

No Reece or N. Glantz in your area? They both sell it.
  3. Need Help Perforated Frustration

Actually, despite many of the responses saying otherwise, 300mphgraphics is correct- the 1360 is optically clear, according to Avery. Having never used it myself, I can't say how good that clarity is, but you have to take them at their word. I found long ago that a "problem" you can run into...
  4. Please Tell Me What This Weird Test Print Is Caused By. (sp540v)

Ten years? Holy smokes- that's an awesome lifespan!
  5. What Do You Do With Your Vinyl Cut Offs, Scraps.

Agree- but I'd add you need to have a set schedule of when they should come by to pick the stuff up (every week, two weeks, month, whatever) or you're going to run into a storage- and attitude- problem. And I'm speaking from experience- the folks I used to donate to wouldn't show up for six...
  6. Flexi Production Manager Pauses When Pc Sleeps

That's the only way around it. When the PC goes to "Sleep", all programs are suspended. It doesn't matter if you're in the middle of a print or not because the Production Manager is runs as a "background" program by design (to go easy on PC resources). Explain to the Admin why you need the PC...
  7. Discussion So, Why Is It.....................................

I have always freely admitted that I don't know everything about this business. But, having hand painted signs pretty much every summer in the early 80s and then returning to the business full time in '96, it's not like I'm ignorant, either. I haven't had to weld anything together in at least 10...
  8. How To Bond Jewelite

And you'd better make sure the glue is for polycarbonate. In my experience, the glues for acrylic and polycarbonate are different products.
  9. Avery 1105 Print Issue...

I'd almost think your post-heater is on the fritz or maybe set too low and the prints aren't drying fully before they're rolled up.
  10. Dirty 3m 680cr?

Well that sucks. I hope they're going to be refunding you the difference in price! As for what we get, they are absolutely IJ680, or at least that's what the tags on the boxes say. Since it's material we print for 3M (as in, it's their material), I'd have to assume they're sending us correctly...
  11. Thoughts On Summa D75r

Looking at the prices on their website, the Summas don't really seem terribly expensive, especially if you're happy with it and it works well.
  12. Dirty 3m 680cr?

I can't remember the last time I saw a splice in IJ180 (if ever), but I see it in rolls of 680- and we get ours directly from 3M. Just printed 9 rolls this week and 3 of them had splices.
  13. Couple L560 Questions

We don't have that one, but we have an HP flatbed with a touchscreen and we put a piece of plastic over the screen to protect it. We change it every six months or so.
  14. Internet Browser

What version do you use? If it's an older one, it may no longer be supported. Just a thought.
  15. Reflective Road Signs

Yes, yes, yes! Typical argument with one of the multifamily residential customers about this, and how I tried to explain it (keeping it as simplistic as possible): "But the road is all on our property..." "Is it connected to a public thoroughfare?" "Uh..." "Does it 'touch' Main Street?" "Well...
  16. Hmmm Need Help On This One

The upper/lowercase text looks like Dom Casual to me. I'd guess the all upper is the same or some variation.
  17. Need Help Vinyl That Any Pen Can Be Used On

Versacamm solvent? As in, you're going to laminate them? I'd suggest testing the laminate- not the vinyl. The matte laminate you use all the time might very well work just fine.
  18. The Things We Wrap (not A Vehicle)

    Is that misspelled on purpose?
  19. Fulfillment Needed

Sell 'em a coil and some snips? (Edit: I apologize- I know that's not helpful, but I couldn't resist!)
  20. Ul Standard

Because there's always going to be some folks who will cut corners (even if it's not safe or smart) if no one's watching. "Surprise" inspections can help cut down on that.
