  1. Epson S60600 Ink Durability

We don't laminate short term stuff like coroplast yard signs, but everything else get laminated. With the Epson, you can scratch the ink with something like a car key pretty easily, but general handling around the shop is fine.
  2. You trippin?

My wife and I always make sure one of us is sober.
  3. Epson S60600 Ink Durability

If unlaminated ink durability is your primary concern, go with the HP, this is coming from a s80600 owner, the inks are on par with other eco solvent machines, but HP has the best scratch resistance out there.
  4. You trippin?

It's legal in Canada now, you can buy it online through a government website, or in a government approved dispensary, absolutely nothing has changed since it was legalized in October of last year, people that smoked before are still smoking, and others like myself are able to access high...
  5. Epson S40600 or Epson S60600

We have the s80600 and it is a true workhorse, you won't go wrong with either of the printers you listed. If you are a 1 person shop, get the s40600, as someone else mentioned, the printer won't be your bottleneck.
  6. Need Help Cut ACM twisting....

Do you know how they are cut? We had the same issue when we cut narrow pieces on our stand up cutter with the ACM pizza wheel cutter, a table saw does a much nicer job.
  7. Where to get this square tubing frame

I would think that is welded up at any local welding shop, I don't think shipping a premade steel frame that size would be cost effective. there are vinyl frmaes that are similar such as 4ever products
  8. Lead times

We make year end awards for a lot of schools in the area, and I can't agree more, every year we get the info for the awards from the school about 2 weeks after we told them we need them, then we rush them through, only to get a phone call that they either forgot a bunch of people, or spelled a...
  9. Wrapping a 50ft tall concrete silo. Anyone ever done something similar? Pricing and time?

I wouldn't touch that job with a 100' pole, if I took it it would take 10 years off my life from stress. Also, the graphics are already printed? so someone decided that vinyl is the best bet already, why aren't they installing it? A mesh banner with ratchet straps is the way to go on this project
  10. Onyx resizing files

Yes I've found Onyx to be very tricky with this, it will randomly resize your files, there should be a warning of some type that the file has been resized.
  11. Weekends

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old at home, so weekends are spent with them. I can't tell you the last time I came in on the weekend to be honest, I really don't want to miss these years with my kids so someone who can't plan ahead can get their sign.
  12. Who is responsible for paying for repairs a serviceman created by their own doing?

It's tricky, this is why a good tech is critical, anyone can read a service manual and swap out parts, but a good tech can diagnose the problem and do as little "surgery" as possible. Did he leave the new print head with you? even if he did, I don't know how it is of any use to you if it's had...
  13. Sheet Cut

Came in this morning, fresh boot up of the PC and the plotter, took the blade holder out of the machine completely and did a cross cut, nothing cut, it went through the motions but didn't cut, so it's definitely using the vinyl plotting knife to cut.
  14. Sheet Cut

Good thing it's still under warranty than!
  15. Sheet Cut

I found it hard to believe myself, but sure enough, when it does the cross cut, it's the blue blade holder that comes down and cuts the vinyl over the cutting strip, I have a call into graphtec now to see what's up. I can't say for sure if it's always done this, but I just noticed it.
  16. Sheet Cut

Out of curiosity, on a graphtec FC8600, when you use the sheet cut option on the front of the machine, is it supposed to cut the sheet with the plotter blade? I just noticed mine does and it can't be good for the blade or cutting strip, i was under the impression this machine had a dedicated...
  17. Anyone here doing the same business model as www.stickermule.com?

keep in mind a company like stickermule, or any other large volume decal company would be printing decals like this on 54" rolls and cutting them on something like a Summa F-series cutter, they have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars on automation so their staffing costs are very low...
  18. Need Help Applying vinyl logos to fluted glass doors

Is this just like coroplast but with glass?
  19. Epson Printers

Very strange, I had it happen most recently with a roll of 2 mil perf on a synthetic liner, I guess it's possible the clear liner and perf holes tricked the sensor at the same time the last of the vinyl came off the core.
