  1. Question Die cut stickers! What media is best for an HP Latex 360 or Canon iPF 8400s

To answer your question, we have been using GF 6 mil semi-ridgid vinyl for most decals, it's nice and thick so no need to laminate, and no edge curl
  2. Question Die cut stickers! What media is best for an HP Latex 360 or Canon iPF 8400s

How did those chucky decals end up with red edges?
  3. Question What would cause these bad cuts on a Graphtec CE6000-60?

Is the knife sharp? A dull knife could cause this. I would also put a small radius on those corners prior to cutting, it will help them cut smoother and they will be less prone to lift when applied.

  5. Gray Back Banner Stand Film in Canada?

We have tried a few different ones and settled on the GB Rollup from All Graphics, it is a true layflat material and it prints beautiful on our eco-sol machine http://www.allgraphicsupplies.com/generic-brand-grey-back-roll-up-film-36in-x-150ft-gb-rollup-36150
  6. Thanks Phil Johnson

How do these machines deal with through cuts? Since they use a big conveyor belt as the table, I don't understand how you can cut on that with a knife, let alone a router head. Is the belt a consumable? Can anyone enlighten me?
  7. New Printer Research

Because the Epson at 8 pass is equal quality wise to the HP at 10 pass
  8. New Printer Research

I've wasted about 350ml of ink in 16 months, or around $100 worth never cleaned the platen, on any of my eco-solvent machines, never had the need to.
  9. New Printer Research

We run an Epson S80600 and have been absolutely thrilled with it for the last 16 months. This machine can hit colours that a latex machine can only dream of. The prints are dry enough to handle right off the machine, we usually wait to the next day to laminate due to our workflow, but the few...
  10. Discussion Roland CJ-500 just purchased

Best thing you can do is trade in the main board for a discount on a new printer, every once and a while there is a promo when you can get $5000-8000 off a new printer when you give them a main board from an old printer.
  11. Saving onyx files

Ahh that explains it, I've never opened a job directly into job editor before, I always open into the rip queue, then I right click and open in job editor if needed. I'll try this out on Monday!
  12. Saving onyx files

Is this an option that needs to be selected? When you say same folder as my print files, would that be the folder on the local computer or in the original folder on my server when the file was grabbed from?
  13. Saving onyx files

OK, follow up question, when I click the save button in Job Editor, I don;t get an option to choose where to save the file, where does it go by default?
  14. Saving onyx files

Wow I had no idea about that, thank you!
  15. Saving onyx files

I've been using onyx thrive for about 2 years no, and I have a noob question Back when I ran versaworks, you had the option of saving your ripped files as .rvw files, which saved all your profile info, tiling specs etc. So if you needed to reprint a panel 2 years later you could easily do that...
  16. Hockey rink board ads - material used?

Pat: There are a number of ways to approach this, depending on how long they want them to last. I would print onto a good 3 mil vinyl like 3651, and laminate with a thick textured floor laminate such as 3M 3645, these would easily last a season if applied to ACM or aluminum sheeting. Reverse...
  17. I'm a blessed man today...

I'm glad to hear your son is ok. Make sure he gets any help he needs, but don't forget to take care of yourself as well, these things take a lot out of the family as well.
  18. Head Maintenance

On our machine that is under the "printhead cleaning" menu, the "printhead maintenance" was completly automatic, it run the pumps, wiped the head, but seemed to do more than a regular cleaning, and it made a huge difference to the print quality when the regular cleanings did not.
  19. Head Maintenance

Hey Jut thought I would give you guys a heads up, we have had our S80600 for 16 months now and it has been awesome! for the last 2 weeks or so, I've had banding issues in my cyan that I could not for the life of me get to go away, I tried manual cleaning, light, medium and heavy cleans...
  20. Need a printer that will be safe and oderless

as mentioned earlier, no printer (solvent, UV or latex) are something you would want to run in a spare bedroom in your house, these are all production machines. The solvent and UV inks put out a strong odor, and the latex heats up so hot that it makes the vinyl itself stink, not to mention...
