  1. Looking for a vinyl with really agressive adhesive

Yes we have, it worked well, however keep in mind the product shrinks back more than most other 3 mil vinyls, and you will be covered in a fine layer of adhesive on your arms when you are done.
  2. How can this be so cheap?

Is it $7.55 for a pack of 12, or $7.55 each with a minimum order of 12? If it's the latter I would print hose all day long if I could!
  3. CRAZY returning customer

tell them to contact your insurance company, they will deal with it from here, this is what you pay premiums for after all, if it's found to not be your fault, your premiums won't go up, even if you are found at fault, they won't go up much with only a few thousand $ in damages
  4. short to medium runs label printer and finisher with laminate

I'm really very confused on your business plan, you say you have more than enough on your plate, but also want to purchase more equipment so you can take on more work. I assume you are a single person shop, I would honestly look into online wholesalers, you have no upfront investment, it at...
  5. short to medium runs label printer and finisher with laminate

Don't buy a $50,000achine based on a vague promise of possible future business. 500-1000 decals in 2 days should be well within your capabilities with the small Roland machine, it's not ideal, but possible, or step up to a 54" printer and be done in a few hours
  6. Onyx overprint

    Can you share?
  7. Power line right of way.. can't do a sign?

This, Inform the client that the power needs to be disconnected, and let them deal with the power company, there is a reason you're not allowed near these things, you could knock out power or worse kill yourself or someone else. Once the client finds out how much the hydro company charges to...
  8. SP-540V Cutting tolerance

There are adjustments you can do that will help, however a print/cut machine will never be as accurate as a.stand alone cutter. Also, on the Roland machines, I've always felt the 4 registration marks are not adequate, our graphtec prints marks every 18" along a print and reads them all before...
  9. 3M Dusted Crystal

Damn auto correct, I meant worst, not wiser lol
  10. When someone asks..."Is that the best price you can give me?"

you sell a 24"x24" piece of aluminum composite panel for $14? why? that doesn't even cover your time to cut it.
  11. 3M Dusted Crystal

3m dusted crystal is also the wiser frosted vinyl to install hands down, any little kink in the material while installing it shows up in the finished product. I also find it very difficult to seperate from the backing sheet when doing cut text or logos, which usually results in a tear and...
  12. Old Engraving Font

Engraving fonts are tricky, they are all proprietary to the software, meaning a 3 line roman font from New Hermes will not be the same as a 3 line roman font from Vision or Newing-Hall, which makes tracking it down very difficult. For these annual plates, if we didn't engrave them previously...
  13. Smallest / least expensive latex printer (maybe?)

Do you have anything to back this claim up?
  14. Discussion Roland TruVis 2 Inks

Can the original tru vis machines be made to use the new ink? I wouldn't think so but maybe I'm wrong. I currently run an Epson s80600 with orange and red ink and it makes a huge difference in your colour gamut, with my old Roland machines, I used to have to fight with them to print a nice red...
  15. 8048 Shrinking

If that is the case than I would like them to let me know what I did wrong, I've been printing for 15 years and never seen anything like this, unless this product requires some special processes than every other vinyl/laminate i've ever worked with, I don't think I did anything wrong Printed on...
  16. Smallest / least expensive latex printer (maybe?)

I printed an orange and red swatch off our s80600 about a year ago and stuck it on the back door of my shop that faces south, so far no fading compared to the samples I kept indoors in a dark place (drawer)
  17. 8048 Shrinking

Sorry it was the 480sv, printed on our Epson s80600, it was left to outgas for a week before we laminated it. I understand that there are bad batches in everything, but the fact that 3M has yet to get back to me after about 4 months has left a bad taste in my mouth.
  18. 8048 Shrinking

We wrapped a sprinter van a few months ago with the IJ480 and the matching gloss laminate (can't remember the number). When we were trimming we noticed the laminate separating from the vinyl. Took a printed test piece and was able to seperate the vinyl and laminate extremely easily, and the...
