  1. Rooting for This

Nice to see. I repair quite a few of my electronics. Just replaced the screen on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 and have replaced batteries in the past. Thanks to the internet, you can find parts and how-to videos on just about anything. When I buy a laptop, I make sure the ram is upgradeable and...
  2. Need Help ADA print not adhering to Formica solution?

If you can't find a fix, you could try scanning and printing the Formica pattern as well on non-glare.
  3. Failing Graphics

A 10-year warranty is extreme. In 10 years the vinyl will be cracked and a nightmare to remove. I find that acetone works well but flashes too quickly and eats spray bottles. I prefer isopropyl alcohol at 91%. With the humidity down south, 70% leaves too much condensation behind.
  4. Vinyl print ghosting / lines

It may not be static, but for us banner material was the worst, and a plastic liner tends to build static at a higher rate than other media. You've also narrowed your problem as a media-specific problem by saying "my 1105 prints this exact file perfectly".
  5. GHOST WrapGlove

The Yellow WrapGlove comes in XL, just depends on where you buy them. https://www.wrapglove.com/collections/all/products/wrapglove-tm-black-reinforced-finger-tips?variant=6319968259

That I do. Thinking faster than I type doesn't help. Maybe I should talk to Robert...
  7. Failing Graphics

Typically in colder climates leaving the vehicle inside overnight is the best practice. In my mind, all vehicle graphics should be cast/cast combos. Post heating helps the adhesive build maximum bond but calendared vinyl over time will break that bond. Typically the adhesive will separate from...
  8. FL Sign Shop For Sale

I understand and knew you may be hesitant to reveal specifics. If you were very near Tallahassee I had some interest. You may attract some interest from the New Yorkers fed up looking to relocate Good luck

Do you have any contract installers in your area? When you are small it is good to build relationships with local installers and other sign companies. These relationships can help by pooling resources on bigger jobs until you are large enough to handle them yourself. Approach others with honesty...
  10. Need Help Vertical banding

A picture would be helpful. A couple of things come to mind, encoder being one and the media buckling in that location would be the other. Drastic differences between the pre, print, and post heaters can cause the media to expand between the pinch rollers. As the printhead travels over those...

Where are you located in Florida?
  12. Well, it's finally happening...

If this is your first one, you are better off with Avery 1105 and matching lam. It is a lot more forgiving. Oracal 3951RA in the past was a lot more aggressive and it sucks to remove especially beyond 4 years. The proslide version may be better, but after fighting Oracal and a nightmare removing...
  13. Vinyl suggestion for truck&trailer wrap job

Avery 1105 and matching lam is always my first choice. No experience with the new Arlon.
  14. GHOST WrapGlove

Thanks, GAC05. Today's job got mixed in there somehow. Multi-tasking was easier when I was young, now I just mix everything up.
  15. GHOST WrapGlove

Anyone who uses a wrap glove for installation should try the GHOST WrapGlove. They are super slick and allow your hand to slide over the vinyl effortlessly. They are so slick that they come with a warning not to uses them when climbing a ladder. I have been amazed by them the last 2 days. The...

If I listened attentively and remember correctly, he was on the supply side of the industry.
  17. New Product More Attentive

Robert, you have heard this may different ways from several people. I've probably said it 3 or 4 times and you're not "listening." There are many posts on here a business consultant could chime in on and show how valuable their services are, or even provide humor, but you don't. Instead, you...
  18. Colorado 1650 poor black color

Wow. that's seems way high. With our Rollands, we never went past 280. Of course, that was because of all the solvents degrading the media and dot gain in the darker colors. You don't have the same concerns with UV but somewhere in the mid 300s you're just wasting money and losing contrast.
  19. Colorado 1650 poor black color

Have you checked your max ink color limits in the RIP Profile? 50 50 50 100 = 250 and if you have a max ink limit less than that, it has to make a decision on which channels and how much of each to ditch... P.S. you don't need that much yellow to make a rich black but some does help to avoid a...
  20. Vinyl print ghosting / lines

Raise the humidity in your shop and see if it helps. Before you go out and buy a humidifier, grab a spray bottle and fill it with water and spray the bottle around the shop floors then try printing again. On a side note, it will keep you from getting shocked all winter, especially on the laminator.
