  1. Graphtec tech support is horrible and cutting master 4 is a joke

The thing is I loved the FlexiSign Production Manager interface. It was so much easier to use than Cutting Master but we went fully into Illustrator so I had to make the change. I was excited when we first loaded CM4 thinking it was going to be a great addition but all it's been is a royal...
  2. Best way to deal with companies wanting to be listed on your Insurance?

STORY TIME: I had a company call about sending me some acrylic lettering to install at a bank location. It wasn't much, it was literally a block from my shop, I gave them a price of $200 but told them I needed payment up front because I wasn't chasing down another sign broker for payment (even...
  3. Best way to deal with companies wanting to be listed on your Insurance?

Put it on the quote that if they need it then it will be an additional $40 charge. The insurance company may not charge you but you're still stopping what you're doing and taking the time to get everything handled.
  4. Graphtec tech support is horrible and cutting master 4 is a joke

Graphtec used to have decent tech support. Nowhere near the stellar quality that Summa provides but it was adequate. Seriously, how many times do you really need support on a plotter? My problem is that I've called Graphtec three times now, left a message for tech support, contacted them via...
  5. Cursive font help

Damn, leave this place for a couple of years, come back, same old Bob. If you look up the definitions of "SCRIPT" and "CURSIVE" and look at the font sample posted that is closer to a cursive than a script. The words have been maligned for years until "SCRIPT" has become the common name, though...
  6. Multi page PDF creation

If SignLab won't do it just save all the pages as different files then use a free site life pdfmerge.com or pdfjoiner.com to join them all together.
  7. Primed, paintable artist canvas that I can print on an HP L26500?

I've got a customer who wants a bunch of custom made paint by numbers printed on primed artists canvas. This will just be black, wireframe art, not a full color print. I printed a sample on a couple of materials we use for gallery wrap full color canvas prints, the printing cures enough to not...
  8. Suggestions Golf cart wrapping

On both of those the front won't be a big issue. You can remove almost everything to wrap and your edges are all hidden behind plastic trim. The rear of the golf cart is a bitch. No way I would attempt my first golf cart wrap using customer supplied vinyl. One or two screw up and you're...
  9. Logo / trailer decal i just did (inspired by this forum...lol.)

Only a designer would notice this, the general public wouldn't see it or care, but the clash in styles just screams "thrown together" to me. The wagon wheel and the lettering are rough and distressed, the cowboy guy is ultra-clean, smooth clip art, and the phone numbers look like they just got...
  10. Chrome football helmet decals

If you're getting $50-$55 per helmet just sub them out. There are a ton of companies out there who crank these out all day for around $15 per pair. http://schoolpride.com/Helmet-Decals/Extreme-Football-Decals
  11. Does anybody use flat pricing for their vehicle wraps?

God, I absolutely hate hearing those "we used to make $185 an hour to take a shit" stories. 20 years ago there was one company doing wraps in town...today there are 5 and another dozen who sell them and outsource the installation. Twenty years ago we were getting $7.50 per square foot for 10...
  12. Need Help Print & Cut logo

    Gino's given up.
  13. How to make this contemporary?

Were there a whole lot of posts deleted from this thead?
  14. Wrapping a trailer with... nothing

That's what we would use. The trailers are flat, IJ40 is made for that. You can use a white color change wrap vinyl but if you're doing it outside in the heat you're gonna hate that stuff. it will stretch in the wrong places and the at the wrong time every time.
  15. Number 64 Need Help ASAP

Tide Sans 600 will get you pretty dang close.
  16. Are sign professionals just giving up?

Ain't that the truth. But at least they'll call you for installation help....after somebody loses the mounting pattern.
  17. Mounting ACM panels (dibond) to an uneven wall

24" x 24" panels and the wall is too crooked for them to stick? How crooked is this damn wall? You should be able to get that to work even if it's an inch off. They don't want you to drill it because they are worried about it collapsing.
  18. Are sign professionals just giving up?

I was serious. I come in here about once a month now, down from posting 6-8 times a day several years ago. There's so little joy on this site now and no sense of humor. It's just evolved into something I don't understand. Probably just getting old...you kids get off my damn lawn.
  19. Discussion Losing Weight.

Yet 50 YEARS of research has yet to show that. Cultures that thrive on diets of almost nothing but meat have almost no history of cancer or heart disease. You want to find a direct correlation between diet and cancer look at processed meats and corn syrup.
