Buy a new rig. You gain the latest tech developed in the time span you've owned your current printer. I was considering fixing my Roland then realized I'd still have a refurbished old printer that could nickel and dime me.
Took the money earmarked for repair, sold the old printer and bought a...
Great initial hit Stacey
Gino is on point with the gray scale and squint test. It is what I tell my students. Weird part is I'm the first one to tell them.
Anyway, here's my take.
I like the basic serif style of the top logo. Clean and easy to read. Psychology wise Roman style font in...
Ahhh...okay now I get it. Thank you for the clarification. In Six Sigma we use the term Poka-Yoke. It is Japanese for error-proofing. That concludes the lesson for today.
Not sure if this will help. I cut some numbers out of laminated ArlonSLX+ for a Harley oil tank which get really hot. Told the client if there are any issues to stop by and we'll do something else. That was several months ago so....
Check your ink cartridges. One may be empty or close to it. If it is it will siphon ink backwards and mix with what's left in the line and cause what you're seeing. At least it did with my 540V.
BOOM!!! This right here.^^^^^
No way I'm going to "crutch" a premium product. It's either perfect out of the box or it isn't getting used.
Can't understand why so many cling to a product/company that keeps screwing them.
Stopped using 3M years ago for all the reasons listed. Best part is not one client has noticed or complained I didn't use the 3M products. Imagine that...
Could be something simple like static. Low humidity in the shop will cause print issues.
Could be a bad roll of material. Static cling material can cause what you're seeing.
Make sure the encoder strip is clean.
Third party inks can also cause a ton of overspray. Had that issue with my...
Want cheap? Find your local fab shop and ask them for a quote. A good shop will have a laser which is great if you need custom shapes.
If you're not in a rush let them know it's okay to nest your work. Usually leads to a better rate since they get to use drop from larger jobs.
Like others have said get a demo. Then run the heck out of it. BTW I don't have a Flexi subscription I bought mine outright when I purchased my last printer.
In case something goes sideways with my Flexi Pro I am on the lookout for a standalone RIP that can contour cut. That combined with...
No love for Onyx here. And yes I used to run it and learned to dislike it, a lot.
Flexi for day to day knock it out signage and wraps. Was using Adobe for the "heavy lifting" projects then sending to Flexi.
Now the heavy lifting is being done(for the most part) by Affinity Designer and...
I bid removals as time and materials because you never know if it will be a breeze or PITA.
Did a removal on a boat transom that took 3 hours. Heat, steam, solvent, nothing worked except hard labor. Came off in tiny strings and chips.
I'm going to be brutally honest. With zero wrap experience you'll spend more money and waste more time trying to DIY and the results will be less than stellar.
The wrap will most likely fail within a year too. You won't get a "close" color match either and the truck will look like a patchwork...
