you do no need "force" to laminate. The weight of the rollers is heavy enough. Two issues...one its a horrible design. You have a lever that adjusts to set heights. Your material will never be at these heights. A wheel that adjusts the nip precisely is always better...Kala, GFP incorporate this...

Is material centered? How many pieces of tape on tur? Use one in middle. manually wind 1 full rotation before engaging tur. did the tech have to install the tur or did it come installed? It may need to be Re-aligned

Is your rip loaded on a laptop or desktop? What are the power settings? Make sure windows is set to never powers off. if you just upgraded Caldera it’s possible that the printer requires an update that may or may not be available from HP yet. Double check that printer firmware is up to date...
