  1. Hello freinds , best wishes for 2024 !

I have a suggestion! Read the rules and get a Merchant Membership if you're going to sell yourself. That is all.
  2. Mimaki UCJV RIP CMYKWWCLCL ICC profiling

No problem, I hope you're able to achieve what you're looking for! I find Onyx has an odd way of recognizing the spot channels and behaves quite differently with the UCJV than it does with our Oce Arizona flatbed. They obviously spent a lot more time and effort with the drivers for the Oce...
  3. Mimaki UCJV RIP CMYKWWCLCL ICC profiling

Not exactly what you're asking..............but we have been able to successfully create custom profiles for our UCJV CMYKLcLmWW for Onyx, using an i1. Took a tech a full day to get a layered profile to work (cmyk+w or w+cmyk) but since then it's been working fine. I would imagine/hope it's...
  4. Question Acceptable size for banner

Good call - I'll have to give that a shot. I find it's mostly Corel-built PDF's that always have a .05 margin or so, have never figured out how to eliminate that. I'll have to do some experimenting.
  5. Inventory management:

I'm in the same boat, need to come up with some sort of SIMPLE inventory management system that doesn't create a part-time job to maintain. For the most part we keep sufficient inventory levels for our most common materials, but since covid the whole "just in time" approach has bitten us in the...
  6. Question Acceptable size for banner

Yeah quicksets are great. We've got one similar to yours. One issue I find is that a lot of times (even our in-house generated files) PDF's have a hairline white margin around the print file, which ends up being included in the Onyx-generated bleed. Have you come across this/found a workaround?
  7. mimaki eco solvent uv direct print on HIP vinyl for docks on lake

Why not? Laminating (especially in this application/location) would be the logical thing to do, regardless of if it's direct printed or solvent printed.
  8. Is this an Arkansas thing?

That's just cruel! It's like hell froze over here. It's been -40 with the wind for last few days, even colder in Alberta. (I think it even hit around -75F there recently) Finally got our first dump of snow last week but it's been too damn cold to go out and play.
  9. Onyx not showing job in preview window

Weird. Can you compare all the IP addresses on physical printers match what they're set to in Onyx? Possibly some kind of firewall issue blocking communication between RIP station and printers? Just throwing ideas out there. Have you tried calling Onyx support? They're usually pretty good...
  10. Media for subsurface acrylic application

We've used 3651 clear backed w/ 651 white for hundreds, if not thousands of panels and have never had an issue. You would think being more economical/calendared films they wouldn't work that great but they do. Only time we ran into an issue was with glass plaques mounted almost horizontally...
  11. FL Complete screen printing shop

How useful would all this equipment/supplies be for screenprinting signs and decals? I saw you mentioned you had frames for coroplast signs. I don't have any interest in getting into garment printing but have always wanted to toy around with screenprinting signs and decals.
  12. Print cut Vinyl on HP1500

I wouldn't use GF 201 in that case then, won't want to come off after a week if it bonds properly. I'd probably just go with something like 3M 40c or similar depending on how small the text is.
  13. Onyx not showing job in preview window

Have you tried toggling back and forth with the placement strategy? Sometimes changing from "Conserve media" to "Print jobs together" (or whatever the wording is, I'm not near our RIP station) will get the preview to work again and allow you to hit print now. Also, selecting/deselecting the...
  14. Question Acceptable size for banner

We do most of the time, our flatbed cutter can cut banners faster and more accurately than a person can. In this case though, center 36" banner on 38" media and call it a day. No marks needed, just cut it off the roll and fold your 1" on each side in.
  15. Throwback Thursday

Talk about a blast from the past! Nice work. Are you still hand-lettering?
  16. Can you speed up UCJV300 where there is no data?

Yep, this is what we do as well. I'd love to have a talk with the genius engineers that designed these things to move slower on blank areas than printed.
  17. Squeegee Streaks on Overlam printed Vinyl

Yes silvering will normally go away over time. The added pressure and/or heat from laminator rollers generally reduces 90% of the silvering so once you upgrade to a laminator it should no longer be an issue.
  18. Need Help Double Sided Printing Golf Balls - Flatbed

I have no experience with this but I think clamping another jig to the first then flipping might be feasible. Otherwise, could you possible roll/drag something across the balls to rotate them 180 degrees? Not very scientific but could work with some testing.
  19. Review Logo for Hurrah Players

Love the "Here is the food that weserve to you" part. Not sure if it's supposed to be funny, but it made me chuckle. Also, took me a minute to get the 1-star bit.
  20. Market size for custom-made LED neon signs in the US?

My guess is the lack of replies indicates people don't feel like doing homework for a half-ass effort/question.
