  3. Need Help Color Variation From Panel To Panel

I can't believe your installer put that on like that. I wish I could give you an answer on that, but I'm stumped. Do you flip the panels when printing?
  4. Need Caster For L26500

Personally, I'd make this the trucking company's problem, since you say they're the ones who damaged the thing. Barring that, search Grainger's website and see if you can find something similar. And send the bill to the trucking company.
  5. File Retention Times

Personally, I "archive" from two years' back on (i.e., 2015 and 2016 are still on my workstation, everything else removed to a DVD and an external hard drive). Most of the company's I've worked for also store work files on a server, so there's less concern about space- we can get files as far...
  6. Need Advice: Banner Installation Warranty Contract

As you said, banners are temporary signs. I might warranty against it being hung incorrectly or against a bad print, but that's about it. There's no way you can control the elements that can tear up even a brand new banner in an instant. Once had a customer who wanted us to provide a ten year...
  7. Print Resume

I don't think you can, unless you want to tile what you're printing and have where it stopped be part of the overlap.
  8. Anyone Know This?

Ugh, as in... that font is terrible in that use. Never ceases to amaze me what municipalities will use for their "branding." My opinion. (Yes, I realize you're just duplicating it. Yes, I realize you didn't ask.)
  9. Anyone Know This?

    Ugh.
  10. Employees Are The Worst

I don't think (or I hope, anyway) anyone is suggesting that you start these people off at $20 an hour if they have to be trained. The ones who don't, though- and can come in and immediately contribute to your business? Yeah, they get the higher pay. I'd think it would also depend on your...
  11. Problem With My Mouse........................

I've found this happens with Chrome from time to time- no matter the site. Normally, closing Chrome (and making sure all elements are close with your Task Manager) and restarting corrects it.
  12. Employees Are The Worst

As an employee who's been "in charge", as well as a business owner (though not a sign shop), I've seen this and I understand your aggravation. People seem to think you owe them something. You do and don't- if that makes sense. You owe them their agreed wage if they perform the agreed duties to...
  13. Question Application Tape For 3m 1080 / Ij180c

Idiots that I wasn't allowed to fire. Part of the many reasons I left the company.
  14. Suggestions Mobile Tool Box

I have a DeWalt about that same size, but I tend to only carry what's needed for the job to the jobsite (which, since I most only install vinyl graphics/prints nowadays, doesn't require a lot). I can say the DeWalt version of this works well.
  15. 6' X 20' Lighted Sign Graphic, Production Ideas.

At 30' in the air, you don't need to be worried. That seam won't really show. Put a standard overlap on it and move one. And be prepared for the customer to call and complain because they can see the ghosting.
  16. Wrap Institute

I don't have a membership, but if you've learned more from his freebies than you did from the class you paid for (which I'm going to assume was not from them), then you have kind of answered your own question in the affirmative. If I was going to do wraps all the time, there's no way I wouldn't...
  17. Need Help Does Anyone Spell Check Anymore??

Just recently did a print job for a regular customer. Not a small time outfit, either. Like, they employ more people in their graphics department than the last four companies I have worked for combined. And they give us what's supposed to be print ready artwork. Our finishing guy says, "hey-...
  18. Opinion Not A Real Problem, Just Wondering........................

I must be in the minority, then. It is absolutely unprofessional to cancel on someone that late- particularly via email. Screw that. At least a call displays that the customer at least valued your time enough to pick up the phone. Bump the price of their next job up to compensate from the...
  19. New Gr Series Plotters

Most plotters will cut magnets, so I'm sure it would cut them. Where you run into problems cutting them on anything other than a flatbed is that they tend to want to stick to the parts of the machine that are made of metal and skew the cuts.
