  1. Rant Seeing How Everyone Else Uses Flexi

I get it now- they want you to pay for a separate seat, even if you're never, ever going to use anything other than the PM on the computer. I swear, for every improvement Flexi makes, it seems like they screw up five other things. I mean, I get it- from a money-making standpoint, but it's...
  2. Rant Seeing How Everyone Else Uses Flexi

Wait- just so I understand... they're telling you that using a separate station for your PM is a bug? What the blazing #$%^? Or are they saying you have to buy a key/dongle/whatever for for both stations so you can install the program on one PC and the PM on another?
  3. Window Graphics To Be Viewed On Inside Of Large Windows

The OP said they believed (correctly, in my opinion) that "the images will all get pretty washed out with all the sunlight coming from behind," so perf had already been ruled out. Same thing would happen with clear, unless it had a white underbase/primer coat.
  4. Graphtec Fc 7000-75

Does it cut the job, or just that? Looks like your cutting program is sending a job number or something. Check it for something that's checked that shouldn't be.
  5. Rant Seeing How Everyone Else Uses Flexi

I wouldn't think older versions (Flexi 7) would be compatible with Flexi 12. My current employer doesn't use Flexi, but at my previous- it was set up on the C:\ drive (Programs\SaI or something like that). Production Manager was in the same folder. The files were backed up on the server, but...
  6. Attaching Frame To 10" Steel Beam

I would run from this job if you aren't allowed to physically attach the frame to that beam.
  7. Peeling Liner Off Vhb Tape

I thought it was just me! Try using a stray piece of VHB on your finger and lift the backer tape with it. I've had some success that way.
  8. Font Identity Help Please

The black appears to be Uncial. No clue on the other. Sorry.
  9. Measurement Change For Automatic Dimension Tool

Click on the Dimension Tool icon, then- on the Design Central popup- click "Advanced". Change the units to what you want and hit "OK". Then, exit the dimension tool (click on any other tool). When you go back to the Dimension Tool, it should have saved your choice of units.
  10. Ultraflex 15oz Blockout Banner

The water based will dry with heat (not necessarily an oven). We run it in our liquid laminator. It is not a fast process, by any means, and an oven would probably be much faster. I've found most of the ClearStar line works quite well- whether you're spraying, rolling, or using in a laminator.
  11. Window Graphics To Be Viewed On Inside Of Large Windows

I think my sinus headache has annihilated my proofreading skills today.
  12. Window Graphics To Be Viewed On Inside Of Large Windows

I didn't know Glass Adhere had a clear version as it's been a while since I used it. I always found the regular either to use.
  13. Snap-off Knives

Second the OLFA. I use the "heavier" blades. Can't remember the part number, but they're available pretty much everywhere. EDIT: If I'm doing detail work or weeding, I prefer using a hobby knife. I feel like the fine point gives me better control.
  14. Window Graphics To Be Viewed On Inside Of Large Windows

Second the voter for the Glass Adhere material. It sticks wells, but isn't permanent. If no one will be able to touch them, you could try white static cling- but if the windows get as hot as you fear, that might not work.
  15. 50% Downpayment

Yes, the "robbing Peter to pay Paul" method of financing production costs is the proverbial "slippery slope." And a good indication that you might want to find a new employer. I also think it becomes an even bigger problem when your company doesn't enforce the 50/50 outlined in most every...
  16. A Bit Of A Pickle...

In your original post, you said "They printed these signs on an Epson and spray mounted the prints to the foamcore. When I came along, they discarded the spray mounting booth, and I do all sign work off of the Roland." That's where my confusion came from. My mistake. Even when all the print...
  17. 3165ra Failing

If it works for you, that's great. I was only pointing out that Oracal says it is not for vehicles. In my experience, calendared films always shrink faster, fade faster, and fail faster. And just because "many shops" might use calendared doesn't make it the right material- it just means that...
  18. 3165ra Failing

Oh... yeah, you'd probably be good with that one.
  19. 3165ra Failing

We use 180 with either 8519 or 8520 for vehicle graphics. If you're using Oracal, I'd go with 3951 with 290 laminate. I'm not sure what 40C is?
  20. A Bit Of A Pickle...

As Canuck pointed out, the inks' color gamuts are different between the machines that were used. If the machines haven't been calibrated and profiled, you're always going to have trouble with matching your previous prints without quite a bit of trial and error. If you can convince your boss to...
