  4. Self Healing Mat On Rolls Roller

Same, our clear mat that came with our rolls roller cuts so very easily, after a year it was destroyed, and it's not even our main cutting mat, it was just from cutting of edges of laminate etc. We put a piece of 1/8" PVC on top of it, and no longer cut on it, the PVC lasts about 8 months, but...
  5. Vehicle wraps in the cold

Before we had a roll up door on our shop we would have to improvise as well, we have a client who is a large truck mechanic, we used one of his many buildings when we needed to, in return I do all of his oil change and other various decals at no charge. The only downside is having to bring the...
  6. Suggestions Where does everyone get their vinyl from?

No professional shop uses 12" rolls, I assume you have a Cricut or other similar hobby machine? Some vinyl suppliers will slit full rolls down to whatever width you like, might look into that.

  9. Just In 10' Monument - New Project

Call Gemini and ask them, they will most likely tell you, if they ask why, tell them you are quoting on a job and the architect want to know exactly what fastener is being used, it's not some big proprietary secret.
  11. Premium Customers

Beware of any customer who tells you they are your best client, or that they will send you all their future work if you give them a break this one time. I would stick to my guns on pricing, I'm not sure what size shop you are, but 20 yard signs and an 8'x8' banner seems like pretty small...

  13. second surface print acrylic installation

If the panel is square, I would cut a frame to go around the piece out of 1/2" aluminum angle, you can then screw that to the wall and it will support the sheer load of the piece, then use lexel to attach the acrylic into the frame. This way the frame would be nearly invisible from the front...

If your tech is telling you those prints are acceptable, you need to find a new tech ASAP!! We had a VG640 for about a year, the printer is perfectly capable of printing solid colours that look like coloured vinyl, so don't let the tech tell you otherwise, if you can't get anywhere with your...

  18. Roland GR-640 Cutter is a POS stay away DONT BUY!

We had a very similar experience with a Roland printer, at the end of the day our local dealer stepped up to the plate and bought the machine back from us, but if it was up to Roland head office they would still be swapping parts one by one 2 times a week to see if it worked.
  19. Artwork release

We charged our standard shop rate, the client needed labels for her line of beauty products, she had about 5 products with different labels, so I don't think 3 hours is out of the norm, am I missing something? And I'm not fired, after explaining to her why our policy is the way it is, she...
