  1. Dancing on vinyl

we have a client who installs these for weddings, he asks for the cheapest removable vinyl with cheap matte laminate, they are usually only down for 6 hours then ripped up and thrown away. he has never had an issue with people injuring themselves on the floor.

  3. S40600 is amazing!

In that case, if the choice is between a printer without any local support or a machine with local support, I would also chose the HP as well, that's a no brainer.
  4. Best printable vinyl to use inside a walk in beer cooler

If the cooler will be waed up during install any normal vinyl would work depending on how long it is supposed to last, the cold won't affect the vinyl after its installed and setup. If you are installing in the cold, nothing will really work, this is the reason we don't install vinyl outside...
  5. Do you have a UPS for your printer?

You would need a huge UPS for the latex machines, they require 2 dedicated 220v circuits. I imagine a UPS that could handle that would be a few thousand $
  6. S40600 is amazing!

We have laminated straight off the printer with no issues when we had to, but usually leave prints till the next day to laminate, mostly due to workflow more than anything else. I try to avoid same day type jobs if possible cause they are a PITA. The ink tank on our printer holds 700ml, I have...
  7. S40600 is amazing!

Another great thing about the Epson machines, they have the best take up system I've ever seen, printing a few full rolls today and the take up tracks 100% straight and true, my previous Roland machines take up's were good (except my Pro 4, that thing had a horrible take up!) but this one is...
  8. Getting a new computer

I consider myself fairly computer savvy, I can operate one very well, but when it comes to building one, I'm pretty lost. I tried building myself a HTPC about 5 years ago and it works, but I took me 5-10 hours of researching components, ordering and assembling. Then there was a few more hours...
  9. Advice on importing equipment from Canada from experience?

is it new equipment or used? if new the seller should at least offer to take care of it for you, if it's used, I would contact a customs broker, they usually charge a couple hundred bucks, but they deal with all the headaches, last time we brought something up from the States on our own it was...
  10. Roland VG540i Read this before buying

It's true there is no such thing as a perfect printer for everyone, you need to look at what types of printing you do and evaluate what machines foot the bill. We used Roland printers for 12 years with no issues at all, then we got the VG 640 and all hell broke loose, the printer was down more...
  11. Need Help Installing vinyl over the bars on large windows

In what way does your gender come into play on this, he (I assume the poster is a male, but possibly not) provided an answer you your question, along with an explanation of how to avoid the issue in the first place, and all of a sudden he's "mansplaning" to you? if not for your user name no one...
  12. ACM Installation on Wall

the issue is due to the vinyl bridging over the seam, if you apply the vinyl then slice the seam it will look much better, just like how it's done on a trailer wrap. If the insist on a seamless design you will need to look into a tension frame with a banner.
  13. Big clients that don't pay on time?????

Only you can decide if it is worthwhile to keep the client, you said they always do pay in the end. We have a few construction companies we do work for that give themselves 60 days to pay, in reality they pay in 120 or more days, but they also don't balk at prices, so we are happy to keep them...
  14. SC40600 Media Profiles

Lower the pre heat and print temps, keep the dryer the same, we run 33,33,55 on most vinyl
  15. Security system and cameras

What do you want to be able to do with the system? Do you want to be able to view the cameras on your phone from anywhere? Do you want the alarm to be monitored by a company, or just send you a text?
  16. Roland VG540i Read this before buying

I guess they haven't improved since I got rid of mine a year ago
  17. Best Value (Full Color Vinyl Printer) for Home Business

no printer will work for the price point you listed, even broken printers sell for more than that for parts. just to fill my printer with ink costs me over $2000 I would seek out a new printing vendor who will let you order smaller quantities, i assume they are only printing full rolls so they...
  18. Question 1440x1440 Profiles s40600

we regularily print labels with text as small as 5 pt and just use the standard IJ35 8 pass high quality setting and they turn out very clear. I assume the reason the arlon profile is off is because it's laying down too much ink and causing a colour shift.
  19. SC40600 Media Profiles

We use the epson dashboard to load a copy of the IJ35 profile onto the printer, once its on there you can rename it on the printer itself and have the machine perform it's automatic feed adjustment, which will save to the onboard profile.
