    The head needs to be dialed in. I recently watched the tech replace the head in my 1624x. Different test patterns were printed and a USB microscope was used to read the patterns. He was then able to input the correct values for alignment.

    If there are other dealers in your town check with them. I buy as local as possible. And make sure they have a good tech at the ready. That's why I own a Mutoh. Print head died late Thursday with a wrap repair due Friday afternoon. I made the deadline with time to spare.
  19. Paint acrylic and aluminum letters: where to start?

    When I used to paint sign stuff I used base/clear or catalyzed acrylic enamel for automotive use. Other jobs got Rustoleum. Last job I did for a museum was done just like a car. 2K high build, sealer, base/clear then cut and buff. As always YMMV
