  1. Thank god for old thread!

Oh, thought this was gonna be about a favorite perfectly faded old pair of blue jeans
  2. Customers are so ignorant...

but I think I can "hear" it in your writing... ...oh, wait that's my reading voice, while thinking of my last useless excuse for a for a client that I fired yesterday
  3. Ahhhhh.... where'd he go now...................... ??

Yep, you're right about how we should never assume we have anyone's future biz already in our pocket... As for the hungry new guy networking, and not caring if he's "stealing"... ...refer back to the above! Future biz is not yours, and anyone marketing for it is not stealing... it's...
  4. Script font

    a's don't match, e's don't match and n's don't match, so I'd have to assume its not a font
  5. Setting up spot colour decals / stickers on to clear vinyl

I guess that black border is where the cut line is, so I'd have the black bleed outside the cut. Then I guess the white is where clear vinyl remains clear... I wonder if it installs on glass and is visible from both sides? If so, I'd let the orange remain translucent, but if not, backing...
  6. Customers are so ignorant...

That's awesome FireSprint! That right there is why I come by here. Business views, from people in the same biz, can really cut through your blind spots sometimes! Not saying I knowingly appear ungrateful to clients, but I'm sure I've become jaded enough over the years to have lost that more...
  7. John Don't Go!

Hadn't actually occurred to me, but that is another brilliant observation! ...but I'll have Chinese!
  8. RIP Round Man

I've done very very little with a brush in this industry, but one of the few time I got involved with any brush work was at two walldog meets. I had the great pleasure of working on the same mural with Timi in Danville, and seeing what the man was capable of! I also remember well how likable...
  9. Perfect, hand lettered, script R in 1 stroke.

If I'm not mistaken, I think he shreds his tunes on the drums!
  10. John Don't Go!

Marlene, This sounds close enough to an experience I fell victim to. Is that the story you are referring to? I thought I might refer to that in this thread, and then I read this, so I decided to ask.
  11. John Don't Go!

I'm tempted to write several thoughts, but I'm meeting a flight and have limited time, so for now I'll just comment on anonymity ,or lack thereof, and how that does or does not relate to people's rights or credibility. Like bob for example... while he has rights to post anything Fred will...
  12. My new way of proofing items with dimension

Looks nice! Done any raised lettering, routed or blasted sign proofs?
  13. Pizza shop makeover

nice work Z! you nested those letters pretty well, resulting in very little waste... was that done by you or by software? Also, they are so tight it seems the toolpath overlaps at times, not interfering with the adjacent letter, but minimizing the amount of surface area available to keep...
  14. My latest project.

    looks great!
  15. Looking for this border

    the pen tool, in Illustrator
  16. John Don't Go!

Hadn't actually occurred to me, but that is a brilliant observation!
  17. John Don't Go!

Fred, I may not always agree with what you delete, but I will defend (almost) to death, your right to delete it! (Actually, everything points to a likelihood I would agree with what you decided to delete in regards to this topic, but just felt like spinning your signature into a reply) I...
  18. font ID request and/or, can someone open a .plt for me please?

    THANKS GUYS! (email sent Fred)
  19. font ID request and/or, can someone open a .plt for me please?

I sold Omega composer & my Gerber Edge, but I still get the occasional reorders from clients who's previous prints were done on the edge. Most layouts start in Illustrator anyway, but thgis time I found a .plt file but nothing else showed up. The client sent me a photo of the boat lettering...
  20. Ink - expiration dates

yeah, but... since print heads are cheaper than inks (besides the 2 heads to 1 ink cart. factor)...I don't think I'd worry about using up close to $150 worth of ink, because a $110 head "might" be compromised...
