  1. Solid color wrap vinyl shipped with premask - How to install?

If the solid color vinyl is "Pre-Pigmented" 1080 then there shouldn't be any liquid lam on it. In that case, just start installing on all the flatter areas and peel the tape off from those areas outward toward the edges and finish as usual. Make sure it's not too warm so as not to stretch it...
  2. Arlon wrap material has ugly grey streaking appearing from nowhere!!!

Static or Head. Not Vinyl. With the black print head placement the same as on my Roland, the black seems to be the most obvious...barely does it on other colors. The backer on the Arlon may contribute to it being more noticeable on it than on other brands...3M has a thicker wax coating on their...
  3. Corel Draw Purchase

Got my X8 Wednesday. Needed it due to compatibility issues with Windows 10 on my Designers PC. He's stoked on it and so far so good. Something like Design Software, being as it is a main function of having my business, I don't see a problem upgrading once every few years.
  4. Semi Trailer Wrap (media stretch)

Don't do it in direct sun. Leave backer on longer. If removing a lot of the backer, do it the same for each panel. Don't start on one end then go to the other end. MASTER the "Triangles" technique. Transfer taping SUCKS. Especially when there are rivets. More work, more materials, more time...no...
  5. Coro sign pricing

You are printing and mounting them? That's your problem. If you aren't screening or printing directly on the Coro, you're adding too much cost & time to the project. If you're doing sets of 10, sub them out. You'll thank me when you click the mouse a few times and a couple days later your signs...
  6. Largest Flake Metallic Wrap Vinyl?

+1 ^^^ HEXIS has 3 different Metallic levels. Their heaviest one has the largest fleck of ANY of the other brands. The colors are awesome too.
  7. looking for installers central ky

Wrapper Mapper shows An Avery Certified Installer in Lexington. Also I saw one listed in the back of the WRAPS Magazine in the Wraps Installer Guide section on page 140.
  8. Great Wrap Stop Motion Vid

Saw this Last year sometime and loved it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMhMkVDJczc
  9. Roland TrueVis

To me...it's basically a re-designed, slightly upgraded, Versacamm. Same price point. Same abilities but with increased quality & efficiency. I'd get this instead of the versacamm if those were my choices.
  10. Help with seams on a cargo van

I've done "few" horizontal wraps on vans. Bottom first is the way to go, but yes, you have more work and "triangles" getting them to align. You have to practically squeegee from the bottom of the top panel up if you want to reduce the alignment...and that's just not fun.
  11. Help with seams on a cargo van

Unless you found 6'+ wide vinyl & Lam, You can't wrap a van seamless.
  12. Avery Failures Return

    So does 3M.
  13. Avery Failures Return

 I'm going to keep my eye on this post. I've been 85% Avery 15% 3M for years now. I did see one of our wraps around that were still young that looked like that. Thought maybe it was them not taking care of it.
  14. Geek Wrap / 3M Training question

Of course it will add to the quality and productivity. Training 3 "employees" will do that. Is it the kind of investment a business owner can rely on for the long term? Human element in there always leaves the possibility of wasted resources, or worse if they become your competition. Tough...
  15. New to the business

Yeah, losing half your profit due to your inexperience will be the least of your problems if you are already hiring salesmen while asking strangers on a forum how to run a sign business from scratch with no experience. BUT...to answer your question, I'd start by maybe getting a job at an...
  16. Wrap Pricing

Make sure you aren't only pricing per sq.ft. Otherwise your smart car wrap will make you 1/3 the profit a van wrap will...but take just as long if not longer. Know what I'm sayin?
  17. Value of a vinyl installer? Wrapper?

3M a pile of trash & Avery not much better? Funny, some feel that same way about Oracal & Arlon. Opinions...not to be confused with facts, and this forum is full of 'em. It at least adds a little weight to our opinions when they are joined with examples or evidence.
  18. Value of a vinyl installer? Wrapper?

I'd hire you even if you had a tattoo of a butthole on your forehead...to run the prep & wrap at that price. Then I'd pay for your Certification & start your raises based on your ability, not your tenure. You are worth easily twice what you are making now assuming. You can run most of the wrap...
  19. Wrapping around bed to tailgate or fender to hood.

It's not a no-no but it is harder to accomplish. When done properly, it looks awesome. You do need to allow for registration in your print (plenty of bleed) and possibly do the logo or graphics other than background as a separate piece so that you have the freedom to adjust the front and back...
  20. Lime Green , Corel X7

You can't rely on a preview for anything. You need to print out the Roland system color library and use those colors on that specific material and laminate. That's the only way to see what color you can "actually" produce.
