  1. Legality and etiquette question

signshopwebsites.com (not sure if they're still a vendor here) offers pre-designed websites taylored specifically to our industry and has a bunch of sign photos available from signs they've done as part of the site filler etc. Just an option. Also, there are generic stock photo sites out there.
  2. Square Footage for NV2500 w/o extended roof?

Do you charge by the sq. ft. for smart cars? Just curious.
  3. Static on Roland Printer?

LOL it's "old wives tales" There...now I can go about my day.
  4. avery chrome

Yes, it's not installed quite the same as regular though. You need extra hands and gentle heat, lots. Wrinkles don't come out and neither do creases. Lifting it back up can cause creases. Using a soft squeegee wet or laminate it before installing is a good idea...to prevent scratching...
  5. avery chrome

Very helpful indeed. Answered all the OP's questions.
  6. Fellers = CheetahWrap

I'll help you understand the business model. Fellers doesn't want to mess with smaller orders to fewer customers...TRUE. That's why they created Cheetah Wraps, which is SET UP to handle FEW products to smaller customers. They don't need forklifts and 4 acre properties to do that. They are...
  7. Fellers = CheetahWrap

No Fellers doesn't really sell substrate. However it makes perfect sense for me to buy my vinyl from company A (cheaper and next day shipping) and board from company B (only run their trucks once or twice a week to my town.) It's different depending on where you live I suppose.
  8. Fellers = CheetahWrap

You won't see me complaining. They have a subsidiary business catering specifically to the Paint Wrap industry. (don't need a printer/laminator and other overhead to do that) If they are offering materials cheaper with fast shipping...I'm all for it. Not sure I've seen a good, logical argument...
  9. Fellers = CheetahWrap

Indeed, you are wrong. They are the "worlds largest wrap supply company".
  10. Camo a truck like Duck Dynasty

    Hmmm.... judging for judging.
  11. Waxing Wraps?

I been told Synthetic Polymer waxes will do. There are also Wrap Care products hitting the market from Oracal, etc. Wrapcare JP as well...they have one for matte finishes even.
  12. feather/tear drop banners

NEOplexonline but I'm not endorsing them.
  13. ISSUES! Briteline Window perf and Clear-focus Clearlam over-lam - NEED SUGGESTIONS!

Looked this thread up because I had the same problem today installing windows. Only I was using both Clear Focus Perf AND Clear Focus Laminate. Seems the Laminate was coming off the print. Some of it I didn't even bother installing because I noticed it coming off before I even started to install...
  14. Our company van wrap design - Go ahead, tear it apart

Looks good...but....on the driver side...either rotate it or don't. Sheesh.
  15. Now, that's low..................................

I agree with you 100% on the talent required part for design and a good "know how" on running the business right. Layout & materials are KEY! I didn't address that element of it but was taking to task the "Hourly Labor & Profit margin" rant. What the market wants: Full color, more...
  16. Now, that's low..................................

Honestly, comparing the way things used to be done by hand to the way they are done by machines now is pretty darn silly. The machines & technology replaced the skilled human in so many facets. You can teach many people to run a machine in a short amount of time with little practice. (as opposed...
  17. Staples is selling vinyl?!?

I even came accross a listing for Avery vinyl on CNET!!!
  18. 4 over trials and tribulations

It wasn't a trap, you didn't proof the previews to make sure the rotation was correct. It's not as if there is an option to order landscape business cards and portrait business cards. This directional proofing has been in operation for well over a year. If you order from 4over you should know...
  19. Lamination

Rules of thumb: If it touches a vehicle it gets laminated. If it goes outside it gets laminated (unless VERY temporary yard sign) even then, it's harder to mount to substrate when thin and gooey. If it's a banner it does NOT get laminated (because I don't want my customers thinking or expecting...
