The Vector Doctor will trace logos for typically $10-$15, you can easily mark that up some and be reasonable and still come out ahead. Of course, more complex graphics will cost more. Most customers are pretty understanding that there will be a small fee to get their logo to look nice. For...
You mean a credit card reader to connect directly into Shopvox? I didn't know that could be done. That stinks that it is broken now, support can't fix that? Do you get a lot of walk in traffic? We have Authorize.net set up and it is great. I can email a Sales Order or Invoice and send a...
When you say "way too much", are you talking cost or complexity of the program? SV is a bit to set up, but once you get there you are pretty set. If it is cost, going below $100 a month you are likely going to lose a lot of features. We only use a fraction of SV's capabilities, but the...
It is Mactac B-Free. It is really nice stuff. We have used the Dusted and Frosted on numerous projects. Install technique is exactly the same, same installer, etc. Photo is after a couple of days, but the original was installed several days before. We are going to try cutting from the same...
We did think about that. They are likely cut in different directions, but internal testing shows no difference, and the manufacturer rep says material is not directional.
Gino - how did you get the seams on the bottom to cinch up? It looks like they don't line up well on the in-progress photo, but then they do on the finished one. There is a gap behind there.
We just installed a large project using this film. Our installer messed up a few stripes that we replaced a few days later. Why is it so different looking? We did not mix the v1 and v2 vinyls - it is from the same roll of material. It is the v2 material.
Tell your customer to go to Google Fonts. They can type in their name or verbiage and see it in hundreds of fonts instantly. I use it for myself when designing sometimes.
If you have a latex already, I would just keep it and run it into the ground. I have both printers, but they serve very different functions for us. I would consider the latex a much better all around machine. It just works. The Mimaki is more finicky, but it does certain things really well...
We didn't use it for backlit prints, but it was just a clear material, no fogginess. It is pretty rigid. The pieces we did were larger than your 10x36, so you should be fine.
We typically flatbed print onto white acrylic. My concern with changeable inserts is dirt and water will get in there. I tell customers they need to try to limit their updates to once a year or so to get it done at 1 time. Any kind of LED digital type sign is going to be way expensive.
Illuminated Image is a good wholesale source for awnings. For a one off project, I don't think it's worth the effort to learn to do it yourself. Guess it depends how ambitious you are
I stand corrected. I was sure our rep had said the EX model only helped with white ink printing. It may depend some on what inks are configured. For me, the biggest issue is the paltry support for Onyx. We did have custom profiles built for Onyx, so we only use Rasterlink when we absolutely...
I have the original 2513. The "2x speed" the EX offers is for white ink printing. AFAIK, 4c printing is NOT any faster on the EX (unless possibly if you forgo white ink). The biggest drawback to the Mimaki, IMO, is the RIP (Rasterlink). Mimaki does not play well with Onyx (not at all with...
