  1. Question Zund

So your problem is with Rasterlink? If that is the case, there is no option AFAIK. Rasterlink is a sorry excuse for a RIP. You will need Onyx to do print to cut on a Zund.
  2. Taking the next step in printers...

I would recommend steering clear of Mimaki for a flatbed printer. We have one and it is great, but we are low volume (typically print 2-3 boards a day). You sound high volume, it likely will not have enough speed for you. Mimaki is also not friendly with Onyx, if that is a concern. A...
  3. I need some HIP reflective

    Try Hall Signs or Grimco
  4. Flex face clips

Rocco - thank you SO MUCH! I contacted Signcomp and they do carry them. Thank you for the offer. My installer is concerned these are going to strip out, so he wants new ones. They sign is very high up and he doesn't want to mess around with the old clips if they give him problems.
  5. Flex face clips

Bump.....anyone? Is this something totally custom?
  6. Flex face clips

I am familiar with 3M and Signcomp clips for flex faces, but I do not recognize this type. We need to replace some worn ones. TIA
  7. Adobe Illustrator 24.3 (CC 2020) Update

I agree the Align to Glyph Bounds is very helpful. That and the "cap height" font height setting will be very useful as well. Been wanting all of these features for many years.
  8. Adobe Illustrator 24.3 (CC 2020) Update

Great googly moogly, they finally added vertical text alignment. Woot, woot!
  9. Need 60" Oracal 8510

I don't see that available in 60inch. Fellers sells General Formulations etch 60in wide by the yard.
  10. Is your bucket truck really broken.........?

I believe it. Last spring ALL THREE of our bucket trucks were in the shop at 1 time. We really only need 2 trucks, but I bought an extra one as a spare. That didn't work out so well.
  11. Roll to roll UV printer

We bought the UCJV300-160 late last year along with the 4x8 flatbed. We owned a few UV flatbeds before, so we were not new to UV technology. They are really easy to maintain, phenomenal print quality, almost never miss any nozzles, very durable, scratch-resistant ink. And the price was very...
  12. Velvet textured polycarbonate decals

This is very interesting. We have equipment (not an Edge) to print them in-house, but the die cut adhesive (or "selective mask") is what stumped me. The video doesn't really go into detail on how that part works. So your actual cut needs to line up exactly with the mask for the clear windows...
  13. Velvet textured polycarbonate decals

Thank you Tammie! I have sent them a quote request.
  14. Velvet textured polycarbonate decals

I am looking for velvet textured polycarbonate decals, similar to the ones Gill Studios sells but this project requires a die cut adhesive - meaning the adhesive will not cover the entire back side. This is required because it covers over an LED light. I do have McLoone as a source, but was...
  15. Alternative to Rtape

This stuff is hard to find, and comes in odd sizes (like no 30"). I see Grimco has it, do you have any other sources you use for it?
  16. Impact modified acrylic for sign faces? And maybe formed faces?

FYI - Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB) is what Gemini uses for their formed plastic lettering
  17. Adding dimension to dimensional letters in proof - Program or technique?

We have started using Fusion360 recently. One of my employees picked it up pretty quickly with no previous 3D software experience. There is some time investment, but IMO it is well worth it especially for higher dollar projects.
  18. Need Help Reflective sheet printing

Reflective can be a really rigid vinyl to print on. Most of the time we print to clear vinyl and mount on top.
  19. Impact modified acrylic for sign faces? And maybe formed faces?

I always thought engraving plastics were ABS, and that was why they were so expensive. Looks like only a couple of Rowmark's are ABS, the rest are impact modified acrylic. I agree with JBurton that "impact modified acrylic" is likely a broad category. Duets ADA plastic is a much more rigid...
