we have 5 roland printers and 4 people who can use them at any time so we have a pc on each one to run the rip. just easier this way no one gets in anyone's way and no slow down in production.
i think back in the olden days in school they told us that the tm or reg mark didn't count when centering your logo or text. i do it how ever it looks best. sometimes you have to adjust because it's too close to some other art or the edge of the material
we are not open on weekend but my boss and i often work on sat and or sun so if we are here and we can help out a customer we do. we are in an industrial complex so we don't really get walk ins. anyone we help out is generally a current customer.
talk to her about it maybe if you work together it could be more work for you also. maybe she is designing stuff that could be printed through your company or maybe she is working on projects that could involve your production if you get some more info.
you won't be getting every job but every...
went to school to be a graphic artist and finally when i was 20 got a job for a printing company (same one i work for now) and we evolved in to a sign company. well at least part of the company. when i started all we did was silk screening and hot stamp roll labels. as business slowed the owners...
making a hanging sign for a customer.
hanging with straight arm sign bracket. the sign it self will be aluminum composite. just wondering if anyone puts an edge cap or some sort of molding on a sign like this? if so is it just for cosmetic purposes?
also what do you use?
thanks
there is a transfer tape made for air agress liners. don't remember the name but fellers has it.
for really small lettering just leave waste material around the lettering and apply the transfer tape then weed it off of the transfer tape.
for small quantity it's not too bad.
depending on your machine i think there is a way to do it on in the menu.
another way is just keep a sheet by the machine and log how much material you use each time you run a job
i use two guys (one to squeegee and one to hold the vinyl and pull the release liner), 24" big squeegee and some knee pads. i slit the backs of the graphics and install it hinge style from the middle out. works pretty good.
i use avery 2902 and general formulations floor lam (ul slip resistant...
what about magenta or lilac. not sure where else to get foils from. can you still get it from gerber direct?
gerber made a pink foil i know.
i used to have a chart that told you foils you could over print with to make different colors but it's been so long not sure where it ended up.
just to clarify when the uv printed labels peeled from the doming it was a pull in coverage so there was nothing for the epoxy to bit in to bu the ink so it pulled away from the material.
if you are just doing a label with some text it shouldn't be a problem

development associates does a good...
do you do the doming your self or sub it out?
we use a company called development assoc. if its a large order (more than 50-100 pc ) we sub it out to them but they also offer a dome at home kit which we use for smaller orders or for rush orders to get a partial out. we have never had any issues...
