When the head was replaced did you replace the head cable with a new OEM one? These fuses protect the board and as said are usually caused by ink splatter short circuiting. On very rare occasions the main board can be damaged. SC

I think it will probably be due to the date on the machine. If I remember you can reset the date by removing the bios battery on the main board. You have to remove the firewire card before you can access this. This question has been asked before, I would advise a search through previous posts. SC

I am more than happy with the 1604. I would want to run this on bulk inks as I do with my 1604 as OEM inks are overpriced and in my experience no better. SC

How old is the head as they last no more than 4-5 years no matter how much they have been used? Also the first thing I would be doing is change out the complete maintenance station. SC
