    Agree with this. They are quite strong. If you are using stand offs in the middle, you could always put those in a stud for extra support.

    Not sure what a "locator" is. But you can use a thinner thread all such as 3/16" and for the stand off, use a 1/4" nylon, plastic or aluminum round tube as the stand off.
