I switched to Mactac a few months back...no issues...gone through 5kits with latex 360...Avery has admitted to having issues with latex along with 3m having their own issues....
Are you using edge guards?
also, every profile you download...imo has temps way too high which will cause media to ripple...paper 190-195 degrees, adhesive vinyl 210-214 degrees banner 215-218 degrees...
every downloadable profile will be near 230 degrees...
Load the versaworks color swatches for Roland in illustrator and photoshop...they can be found on the versaworks cd or on their website

there is nothing wrong with Onyx and if you were pc based it would be my go to rip...
caldera makes production easier...it's faster and it manages color better..imo
Lease you equipment from a supplier that wants to build a relationship with you and help you grow your business...any reseller can offer you a fare price on the equipment what about the other side to that coin? You are a start up...first printer...training? Extra training when you forget...
From rip queue you have leading edge, trailing edge or space between copies going on that is creating a false boarder that is increasing your file going to cut server...had this issue myself...until I figured it out...
What kind of printer? Avery 1005 currently has issues with Latex 300 series printers...no fix anytime soon...issue does not affect all rolls...hit or miss...
3M is pricey but it works...switched to the new Mactac formula and absolutely love it.
Check Roland's website for profiles..they have gotten much better with third part rip profiles...if not...versaworks came with your printer and is free...
One of the issues with the 25500 imo was that the ink looked a bit muted...it got better in the 26500 and even better in the 300 series...you may need to just laminate whe you need a glossy finish..
I hear a newer version is coming out with an additional heater...not sure when...
current version can weld two banners together but they won't hold up for a long period of time...
I have run them all...for a first printer the 110 is the perfect solution..smaller ink cartridges, self install(make sure you take online cours to get you 6m warranty extension) you change your own PRINTHEADS...ZERO daily Maintenance...swabs solution and time add up after a year...
