remove all consumables
unseat all ink cartridges
leave media lever up and hood open
power back on and have printer ask for all consumables and install 1x1...this does a soft reboot of all boards...might get you past issue...

The 550 is a gret flatbed...I have first hand experience with it. I would not say this it does anything great...it does however do a lot of things really well. There are FLATBEDS that offer a higher resolution...but the 550is just user friendly.

The Roland is not for a production environment...more niche...6" nip allows all sorts of substrates to be used...it's not fast...some have complained of excessive verticle banding...

There are orange pads on left and right side of carriage at rail...make sure they are oiled...actually the right side should have an oiler...make sure the reservoir is full.

Re:hp recomending switch...its easier for them to troubleshoot over the phone...a monkey can troubleshoot a switch...power off power on...green means go...
Make sure you prime the filters on the end of the ink boxes before installing. If you are still having an issue, open box and make sure that the like is not kinked or bent.

why are you turning the printer off? There is no reason to...if loaded with white ink, I would never turn off...the printer will...
Are you using OEM inks or third party? The GS6000 got you about 6 weeks outdoor with the orange...The yellow was the only ink with higher levels of nickel to prevent fading...2 years unlaminated 4 years laminated was the warranty when it was sold...

The printer is simple to perform the feed calibration...I'd never leave that to the profile...besides all can be affected by too much heat (stretch) and change of the carriage height....
