  1. 5/8" clear plexi and fine scratches

You're in a tough spot. Never remove the paper on the side that you're not going to be working. You only have 2 options, either tell them the acrylic isn't finished cleanly of if you're too far into the job I would proceed as follows: The brown stuff is either melted backing paper glue from a...
  2. Should you fire this employee?

You may be able to adhere to this philosophy until 'it' is one of your own. We may then see a 'bob' covered in tears and snot, looking up at the heavens with a miraculous new found belief in God, willing to hand over and go without all manner of bodyparts and fluids in an attempt to save 'it'...
  3. Should you fire this employee?

I've been mulling this saga over in my mind and I've come to the conclusion that the best he can expect from you is not being charged. The best you can expect from him is to dissappear out of your life. You're the victim here, not him.
  4. Should you fire this employee?

Just maybe we're not all 'eye for an eye' arseholes...some of us might value people (and kids) more than profits....
  5. Should you fire this employee?

I would say to this guy..."Don't let people make their problems you're problems." Man, what a mess...can't carry that! I'd want this whole saga out of my life permanently.
  6. 1/2" Plexi

If you see acrylic that the cut sides look just as good as the face it's been diamond polished, especially the thicker stuff 1/2", 1". Flame polishing is pretty good when the acrylic is straight off a cnc router (especially with a water mister).
  7. 1/2" Plexi

    Yep, if that.
  8. Check it out quick! My girlfriend is Live on the net

It's a hollow tree trunk that's seasoned on a fire with a mouthpiece made from chewed plant resin that aboriginals here have used for thousands of years.. Hard to play as you have to develop recirculating breathing. Sound is kinda hypnotic, tribal and haunting.. I love it.
  9. CNC routing

Yep, JohnL that was what I was trying to explain except don't cut through the paper, leave it to hold the letters/parts. If your bed is flat it's quite easy to cut out full 8' x4' sheets of small stuff this way. I agree with iSign, buy that vacuum. A router isn't complete without one, it's like...
  10. Greetings from the Great White North

    Welcome from Sydney.
  11. CNC routing

Another thing...you should be able to cut down to the mask on acrylic and that will hold the letters...for other stuff you can lam app tape (Hi-TacK) over the back..maybe 2 layers. Thats how we do small letters...1/16" bit and letters down to 1/2" high....sometimes smaller.
  12. List of eco solvent printers anything other than roland, mimaki, mutoh?

Yes, of course you can do it for under $3,000 and make it work, prerequisite is that you know what you're doing and understand large format printers and how to get and keep them going, but doesn't sound like you have a clue. That's not a slight on you, just the way it is. It'll be well used and...
  13. CNC routing

What type of router is it? You really need the vacuum hold down....really.
  14. retractable returned for defect

lol...or the one's that just let it rip back into the housing....for some boofheads we've even had to rivet the banner to the winder and top aluminium strip.
  15. problem aligning grommets with exterior wall bolts

Sailtrack is an aluminium extrusion that costs pittance that a hemmed banner with either rope or kedar edge is slid into and along. We have several banners up around Sydney that we change every month or two..some 40' x 6'. Most banners and a lot of billboards are installed this way over here.
  16. problem aligning grommets with exterior wall bolts

Why don't you just use sailtrack?
  17. Check out this print test....

have you ran some deep clean cycles? ..ahh I see now, this is the test they sent you?..WTF?
  18. Check out this print test....

yes, but you're heads are getting better and better as you are testing...keep going man!
  19. Cappy Birthday

I don't think banning does that much good...suspending them, yes. Put a tag under their avatar to keep reminding them...'On Probation'. May just be me, but I find that the more outspoken, passionate, eccentric and 'trouble making' members of forums usually have the most interesting or...
