  1. Question What Printer would you stake your business on?

Our 60600 is great. But the scratch resistance is poor and having to allow dry time is a pain when you do a lot of fast turnaround work.
  2. Question What Printer would you stake your business on?

HP latex have been good for us but I am tired of the colour and length inconsistencies. Loading them is tedious and they take too long to start and stop. Our Epson is better but solvent also has inconvenience. We are definitely looking at a roll fed UV for the future. Our Oce flatbed is a real...
  3. Anyone tried to print to 80gr paper?

    It's a 360 so created it's own profile. I think I turned the heat down a bit.
  4. New Plotter - FC9000 or something else?

The camera is super fast. If you do a lot of print/cut it will save a lot of time. The only proviso is it won't work over ethernet - you have to use a USB cable.
  5. Anyone tried to print to 80gr paper?

We print 80gsm bond paper for an artist who does paste ups. Prints quite well on our 360s.
  6. Chromatic Banding

Some colours band at 6 pass on our 60600. We run those jobs at 8 pass which mostly fixes the issue.
  7. What are your thoughts on the S80600?

If you're doing print for pay or signage the 60600 is probably a better option. You only need to stock 4 colours and it's a bit faster than the 80600. Quality and gamut is excellent. If you're printing for photographers and artists from native rgb files the 80600 would be nice.
  8. Anyone upgraded to NEXUS_01_16_00.8 on 300 series?

We had to do a manual download and install through the printer's web interface.
  9. Need Help Need media help for glass.

Reverse print on laminate then back with white vinyl.
  10. Good news day

Left wing media are still complaining though.
  11. You know what's funny?

Well yeah. I only answered because the number wasn't in my contacts. When he rang back half an hour later I didn't answer.
  12. You know what's funny?

When a kinda new client who has been trying to beat you down on price all week, gloating how another printer can halve your prices, rings at 8pm Friday night wanting a job delivered by 9am the next morning. Smart guy just got a lesson in the quality/price/speed matrix.
  13. Epson S80600 stuck at a prompt, need a solution.

We always keep at least two carts in reserve for exactly this reason. Suppliers sometimes run out..
  14. Epson S80600 stuck at a prompt, need a solution.

I'm sure there's a sticker on my 40600 saying turn it on at least once a week to prevent head damage.
  15. PVC Free Laminate Options?

    Avery 6460 isn't pvc.
  16. Sign Shop Software - What do you use?

Not sure how the licensing works for multiple locations but that function is built in. I believe Fastsigns use it over there. Yes you can set it up to notify customers on the progress of their jobs. I don't want to bombard them with emails so just have it notify when their job is built and...
  17. How do you manage your color match

Onyx has a Swatch Book Tool. Either scan a pantone colour or select one from their palette and it prints a range of colours around it. Select the closest one and use it's cmyk values. Does Caldera have something like that? It's a real time saver/
  18. What is causing these scratches?

I mean it's mesh so you'll get away with that. The only way to prevent head strikes on a latex is to use the edge guards and increase the vacuum. I'd use mesh with a liner in future so the vacuum will pull it down.
