  1. Little Help Please

Looks like an embroidery font? Hopefully someone will chime in. Love....Jill
  2. Avery Failures Return

I would never trust them after getting it up the rear without lube from them in 2005. The only refund they offer is usually more of the dreaded Avery. Love....Jill (I just do cut vynull, but have never had a failure since 1998 with Arlon products, 3M and Oracal have never let me down, either)
  3. Ever just up and left?

Go for it, but do it sensibly. First find a job, then relocate (assuming you live in a rental right now and don't need to sell a house) Do this while you are young enough to make a clean break. Good luck! Love....Jill
  4. This is what I'm working on now, thoughts?

As ever, Tiki showed the best way forward. PLEASE consider his suggestion rather than giving your client a shrimp tail.
  5. This is what I'm working on now, thoughts?

The one you say you like looks like cloven hoof prints. Or maybe a scorpion tail. Here's one I did several years ago, the image in the frame is cropped from one of her nature photos.
  6. This is what I'm working on now, thoughts?

If forced to choose, I would select the bottom right. I'd put "photography" in a panel underneath, all-caps no script. You don't have to overload your logos with cutesy clip art. Think of using images as seasoning a good dish. Too many can ruin things. The fonts are all very generic...
  7. Material for Storefront Graphics

Whatever materials that you end up using...do not apply it all the way to the edges. Leave a gap of at least ½" to 1" of just plain "window" on the edges to avoid cracking the glass if it gets too hot. Love....Jill
  8. Yeah ... but paint PEELS!

I have a friend who USED to do routed HDU signs, and they quit making them because the paint did indeed peel. If memory serves, they were using Precision Board and what cause the peeling was their brand of primer. I think the top coat paint was Ben Moore, but the primer caused the failure. I...
  9. Ideas for a Chili Cook Off !!!

The only thing I got instantly was a corny old saying of my Mom's (now 90) "Chili Today, Hot Tamale!" You could do an upright old-time wall thermometer graphic with the mercury busting out of the top? Or the other saying is a more graphic.."Poopin' in the Crick tomorrow" (or creek if you're...
  10. Printed design on a window that makes the window look cracked?

I would be happy to paint it :D
  11. Printed design on a window that makes the window look cracked?

I'd use white latex house paint. Snap chalk lines on the front of the window as guides and have at it on the inside with Foamies and regular brushes, about a 3 hour job that would cost me less than $30.
  12. Surf Shop Vehicle wrap concept

It has too much clutter, especially at the front fenders. I would lose all the surf boards. Except those on the top of the vehicle. Are those shark fins at the bottom? I would lose those too. The orange is too red an orange to be using with sea-blue colors, you would be better off with an...
  13. Printed design on a window that makes the window look cracked?

It could probably be hand painted, using just plain white paint. A little freestyle action which could be scraped off later. Love...Jill
  14. Prime and paint aluminum

Spare yourself a world of grief and just buy a new blank. The amount of time and effort you are going to put into "fixing" something is worth more than just starting fresh. Love....Jill
  15. Business Card face lift

I'm not a web designer. I am a sign painter since 1985. I can produce nice layouts with or without a computer. Have a swell day!
  16. Business Card face lift

No...I just hate bad layouts. Please ignore any input from me. I was just trying to polish your turd. :ROFLMAO:
  17. Business Card face lift

I agree with much that has already been said (plural and singular together, the "x", sort of a badly rendered cheap looking script, gmail address, dated looking done a million times "roll" effect) I have a feeling that you will probably ignore the good suggestions you've gotten. At the very...
  18. Design - Do you provide working files?

When I do a logo for someone, I include all their files on CD, in all types, so they can screw it up as much as they want :Big Laugh I usually include business card files and everything...it's usually just easier that way. If they lose the CD I will burn one new one for free, no changes. Any...
  19. My logo... version 4,987.

It's busier than a cat trying to cover crap on a marble floor. Sorry. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should. Logos do not need a phone number or a city, in my opinion, that would ease up some of the clutter. But the stripes, diamond plate, the busy fonts with multiple...
  20. New logo for myself.

It's OK...but do not distort the SIGN CO. and make it smaller to give it more breathing room. Leave the . Love....Jill PS Or better yet, do like Gino said spell out COMPANY, it would leave you room in the panel for the y descender.
