  1. Need help closing a job.

I have no idea how to help you close a job, as the same thing happens to me. But I absolutely NEVER give out a sketch, even a mock-up of their artwork, without a deposit. If you don't value your own time, neither will they. Love....Jill
  2. A few hand lettered signs from the vault

:banghead: :Big Laugh I went through the faux marble phase too. Isn't it so much fun to be able to experiment, teach yourself new tricks? Remember the days of getting a new Signcraft and not being able to contain yourself until you could incorporate some cool thing you saw there into your...
  3. Nursery Walls

...and this would be so much more meaningful, anyway! Love....Jill
  4. Hand painted sign a friend just bought

It's still the same today...underbid everyone and you will end up out of a job eventually! Or be a busy fool.
  5. Logo help also

I knew what it meant because I have it. But it could be much more defined. The logo is cookie cutter boring. Love....Jill
  6. Best Paint for sign foam?

The best gold paint I ever used was Perma-Gild (Kemp's or Keep's, I can't recall) The second best gold paint is Ronan's Aqua-Gild. It requires double coating but is super nice looking. Novacolours also makes some lovely metallic paint. I would "pat" it on with a 1" Foamie. (after all the...
  7. Art "Not a Lost Art"

I use my own stuff all the time. My style is always cartoonical, whether I want it to be or not! I don't think it's dying at all. In fact, you can charge more for it because it's not just clip art. Love....Jill
  8. Carved Pizza Sign

Dammit, that thing is making me hungry. I love the colors, like the finish, and agree about the angle of the slice, I would try it with the pointy end going up between the names. Looking great. Love....Jill
  9. Thoughts?

    Hey...at least you're a good sport.
  10. Thoughts?

I admit to really hating the big J. I have hated it from the start but didn't want to sound mean. It might be my OCD acting up, or just the fact that it throws everything off balance. In your last batch of three, I suppose the top one with the red tool is OK. But everything else just looks...
  11. Font help for me too, please!

Thanks! Works for me. He also wanted some sort of side striping but I drew the line at that. I don't really even do vynull crap anymore.
  12. Font help for me too, please!

This is some saline mustang thing or something. I hate doing this type of crap but I am obligated. Any ideas on number font? Thanks so much. Love....Jill
  13. Thoughts?

    Tiki, that is sweet.
  14. Thoughts?

...I completely agree with Pat. That JD just looks awkward and throws everything off balance. I'd make it the same size as CONSTRUCTION. Try a different font, and at least center whatever icon you use over the lettering.
  15. It's Here.................... !!!!

How much snow did you end up getting, Gino? We had a grand total of 2" here in Butler, but my man friend in Somerset got 35½" PA turnpike still closed, too, in that area. Love...Jill
  16. Thoughts?

    Here's a quickie suggestion.
  17. Thoughts?

Why are you making the JD larger? I think it interferes with the flow. If you have to make it larger, I would stack it on top of Construction, lose the hammer and put the saw blade over top. I'd actually make a completely different icon than a hammer or saw, which have both been done to...
  18. Help! Removing decals from wrap?

If you really want to punish yourself, try a little bit of Rapid Remover to see it it will take off the glue. (I think it would) But as has been said, there will still be The Ghost of Decals Past with which to contend. Therefore, add me to the "PASS" crowd. Love....Jill
  19. Corel X7 gone crazy

Believe it or not, I do similar to what Old Paint does. I make a shape and then copy and past it. I either move it with my mouse or I hold the Ctrl key when rotating it to manually control the degree of the rotation. It's tedious, but it's the only way I know. I am on X5, and my issues are...
  20. Making a Zombie Sign

It would look a million times better if you reduced the size of everything to give more breathing room around the edges. Love....Jill
