  1. Freaking Stupid Dell botches the new XPS 17

I think the design choice Dell made is a realistic one based on the fact that people don't use the total power potential of a computer for even a tiny fraction of the time they use a computer. That's the whole reason behind the cpu throttle and turbo characteristics, especially in laptop...
  2. Onyx issue with Windows 10 2004

You don't have to wait for the Windows Update. All it takes is a driver update for the Onyx dongle. You can do the driver update right now no matter what version of Windows 10 you have. Even the whole rigamarole that Onyx has on their website isn't really necessary. Just download the new driver...
  3. How to add an electrical cabinet to an exisiting pole?

As small as the pole, driveway, and surrounding buildings look, that looks like it originally had maybe a 4'x4' or 3'x3' on it. The pole probably went through the sign and the top of the sign sat on the top plate. Double face with pan faces. Something like the FedEx sign behind it. Regardless...
  4. Mimaki CG160FXII and ONYX Cut Server

We use Onyx too, and with our Graphtec plotter you send the cut command from CutServer, and the plotter then reads the marks after which it cuts. But with the Mimaki, you load the vinyl, activate the mark reader in the plotter controls, position the first mark, then have it read the marks, then...
  5. Pontoon Boats

Here, most people never buy the trailer. The dealer delivers the boat (Or they just drive it home from the dealer) and they keep it in their dock and it never leaves the lake.
  6. Mimaki CG160FXII and ONYX Cut Server

With that Mimaki we've always read the marks manually before going to hit cut in the software.

You don't have those same discussions with your self over the purchase of green and beige masking tape?
  11. icc issues

"Setting"? That's not usually how I think of profiles. What RIP are you using? What profile are you using? What material are you printing on? Who set up the machine and trained you on it and the RIP? Did they run a print after they were finished to show it was all working correctly together...
  12. Discussion Anyone experience issues with ecosolvent, UV, vinyl smell?

I started with a Mimaki JV3. You could not stand to be in the same room with that printer, though I knew some big places that had their people working in a room with two of them. I put the printer in a room by itself with outside venting. With the Epson S70670 I use now, it's about 5 feet away...
  13. dust & particle on prints epson s30670

The only way I can see to be getting dust on prints as they feed out of the printer is that the vinyl has dust on it going in. You either have a contaminated roll of vinyl or the room is extremely dusty. Changed your furnace filter lately?
  14. Font Help round square font?

Digital Serial Extra Bold that's been stretched.
  15. Mimaki CG-FXII and Onyx Cutserver

We've been using that combination since we opened 14 years ago. Never had to do anything to get it to cut in the right place. As far as I know there is no calibration utility in CutServer.
  16. Business Management - 6/16/2020 - open discussion

I had never heard of the color personality test. Found a free one online. I came out a red.

Yeah. I sometimes wonder what's wrong with their toilets at home.
  18. Mac Goes Arm

Sounds like Apple is trying to do a Windows 10. Make it to where computers are just a big phone.
  19. Customer Mask Requirements

I can't speak to what's happening in Oklahoma, but here in Missouri, though the number of cases has continued to be added to every day, and a small handful die each day, the number in the hospital has been declining the last 2 weeks. What we're seeing is that rural counties which had not had...
  20. Need Help GBC Laminator - reverse wound issue

You have to pull that first foot or so out, holding it away from the supply roll of material. Once it's hanging off the end of the laminator, gravity suffices. When the supply roll is smaller, there's less of a problem because the exiting vinyl won't touch the supply roll and stick.
