  1. 4over Banner Quality

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm located in Canada so most of the suggestions aren't practical for us. 4over is available up here so that's why I asked.
  2. 4over Banner Quality

That would be great f you don't mind! Thanks
  3. Client Said They Can Get The Material Cheaper

I'm not a wrap shop, but I would explain to them that much like any other service based business, your raw material costs make up a small portion of your bill. Take your car to a mechanic to change your serpentine belt and the parts only make up a small portion of the bill. I think you have to...
  4. 4over Banner Quality

Yeah unfortunately our options are limited up here, 4 over is local and offers free delivery, so i was hoping to use them.
  5. 4over Banner Quality

Can anyone comment on the print quality of 4over's outdoor banners? I have a job coming up that requires a 9'x27' banner, the viewing distance will be 1-2 feet so quality is important. I considered printing it myself and taping the seams, but for what 4over wants for the complete job it's...
  6. Need Help With 50,000 Decal Order.

I would never even consider running that size of a job in house! outsource them to someone like stouse, you can buy them for less than your materal cost.
  7. Fuel surcharge???

ND graphics is horrible to deal with, plain and simple. From their horrible pricing structure to their terrible customer service. I've tried asking them about the fuel surcharge and the answer is always "the computer applies it automatically I can't remove it" The biggest pain about dealing...
  8. Roland VG-640 TrueVis - Eats Ink like no other

Yup, we've noticed the exact same thing, brought it up with our tech who has brought it up with Roland, no answer as of yet.
  9. Franchise Shop underbidding

Yeah either they messed up the quote, or they are slow and trying to avoid having to lay people off before they ramp back up again, i've seen it before
  10. Need Help Hi All - Looking for some advice on new Roland Printer

The cost difference in ink per m2 is insignificant, we would be talking fractions of pennies a day. The XR-640 can be made to run with third party ink if ink costs are that important to you, but why do that with a brand new machine. The Tru Viz takes an extra cartridge as there is a on board...
  11. Need Help Hi All - Looking for some advice on new Roland Printer

We have the Tru Vis, it's a great machine
  12. Cheetah wrap & Fellers - Update

Out of curiosity, why do you continue to buy from them if you don't agree with their business practices? I'm sure other suppliers would be more than happy to sell to you, they would likely even match fellers pricing.
  13. Suggestions New Latex Printer. Either Mimaki or HP

I was told this by the tech who installed the printer, and I believe it, on our old Roland when a print accendently touched ink to ink it almost always caused ink to pull off, now it doesn't happen at all, even on heavy coverage. We don't do wraps so I can't comment on that, but I've had no...
  14. Suggestions New Latex Printer. Either Mimaki or HP

If you are set on latex, go HP, there is no other option, mamiki latex is pretty much non existent, so parts and service would be hard to get. But if you are not sold on latex, take a look at some of the eco solvent machines, we got a new Roland VG 640 about 6 months ago and it has been pretty...
  15. Logo Reproduction

Thanks for the video, it was very educational as a Corel user! Ignore Bob, he gets his kicks by using a thesaurus to feel superior to others, however in 7 years on this forum, I've never seen him post a single example of his own work.
  16. Anyone know where to get the stripper pole?

We have a job about once a year to strip and recover around 35 2'x10' prints on ACM, we ended up using some 1" black pipe we had lying around from when our sprinkler system was serviced, cut a piece long enough to cover the vinyl, add a 90° piece and you're in business, you really don't need...
  17. Suggestions Customer is asking for specific paint before installing wall material

Basically avoid any paints that mention "easy clean" or "scrubbable" in the description as that means they have either silicone or teflon in them to help stop stains from sticking, this also stops vinyl from sticking also paints labeled as zero or low VOC you want to try to avoid as the...
  18. Suggestions Customer is asking for specific paint before installing wall material

Sherwin williams has a product line called ProClassic that doesn't have any of the additional ingredients that cause vinyl to fail.
  19. Bulb storage

I like it, plumbers use it all the time for storing pipe. Thanks for the tip
  20. Just saw this posted on facebook...

a 1 watt laser is pretty much useless for any real work, it might be able to engrave and cut card stock and wood veneers, but it will be so incredibly slow that you will never be able to make any money.
