  1. New Latex Flatbed Info.

I find it amusing that they tout the low cost of operation. My ink costs over twice as much per liter, yet average ink costs run less than $0.08/sq.ft. per our RIP. Unless that $0.18/sq.ft. is with full flood white?
  2. Are sign professionals just giving up?

How much did they save by flipping the stem of the "i" in "Ridge" upside-down?
  3. Suggestions Your Opinion - HP Latex 115 Print & Cut vs Separates

I think the HP 115 Print/Cut package is actually 2 separate machines. So not an all-in-one printer/cutter, just a printer & a cutter sold together. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/commercial-printers/latex-printers/115-print-cut.html
  4. Source for LED strips

This is close to what you're looking for. It's 24v RGB, and they also have 12v white versions. But no 12v colored that I saw. Flexible RGB LED Strip Light, Bend around Corners and Curves - Ecolocity LED
  5. Cyan Overspray on Blue Prints (CET UV Hybrid)

Yeah, what do your test prints look like? What does the head alignment print look like? I'm curious if the head fires in a straight line. I don't think it's negative pressure related. If the pressure was too low, you would get ink dripping from the heads, but I doubt you would get individual...
  6. Zund Or Oce Procut

I wouldn't consider the 350w option unless you're only doing very light routing. For example, cutting 10mm Alumilite (2 passes, 120"/min, 40k RPM) loaded my 1kw spindle over 30%. That's at or over the limit of the 350w option.
  7. Question CNC software

It's free for "hobbyist" use. It's quite popular among the maker community, which is why there's so much free tutorial content. However, it's not without strings attached. From Autodesk's website:
  8. Flexi toolbars moving

Depending how they're connected, turning off some monitors makes the computer think you have unplugged it. So then Flexi thinks the screen size changed, and adjusts its toolbars to compensate for that. Does your monitor have alternative ways to connect to the computer? My monitors are connected...
  9. Discussion Anyone unhappy with Cyrious?

In my opinion, you need at least person that understands Control inside & out in order to use it effectively. Their tech support is good for complex problems and server errors; but if you have someone that can modify pricing forms, change selection lists, etc, that is very valuable. We have the...
  10. Cap Station or No Cap Station

Yeah, at the home position there's a tray to catch ink that you can slide back to give you more room to clean the heads. When the carriage is the whole way down, the bottom of the carriage is ~1/4" from the ink tray. The only thing you have to worry about curing the ink is UV light, which isn't...
  11. Cap Station or No Cap Station

Our CET doesn't have a capping station. Our Agfa m4f that we had before the CET did have a capping station, but we never used it. I've personally never had problems with heads clogging. The CET has an ink spitting function that can be used if necessary, but we don't use it. The printer is...
  12. Question Cleaning acrylic for flatbed printing

Buy digital print acrylic (such as Optix DA or or Acrylite Digital) - that way you don't have to clean it. Plus, the ink adhesion is better as well.

  15. zund m1200 Help

What safety controller does it use? Our Kongsberg table uses a Sick 410, and the photocells can be bypassed by jumping the sender & receiver signal lines.

This what you're looking for? http://www.centurygraphics.com/store/product.php?productid=55&cat=1147&page=1 Century Graphics is the wholesale side of Oakley Sign.
  17. what is this?

It looks like standard foamed PVC. The break doesn't show any layers like a foamboard based product would need. Digital print grade PVC tends to be a bit lighter than outdoor grade gloss PVC, so that might be why you think it seems too light? (although in a piece that small you might not notice it)
  18. Need Help Printing off Colors

Um, no, it isn't. Your cyan looks more like light cyan. Are you sure you have the right ink installed?
  19. Braille

Is this what you're looking for? This is from a 2012 tooling brochure. It's supposed to work with XN & XL tables. What table do you have?
  20. Suggestions Re-creating channel letters for existing sign

What I've done already is take a picture of the faces with a large framing square (or a sheet of paper), square it up in Photoshop and hand trace the faces in Illustrator (or find a font & modify it). To make sure my vectors match the actual faces, I then cut out the replacement faces in a...
