you have to make a template to get it right.. most use transfer tape and stick it on the side of the boat, then trace the body lines, then pull the transfer tape up and stick to a wall to photograph and scale.

neato i love your work, but the multiple outlines on this look kind of forced..
the white then the dark blue outline after it ... the blue is too strong it detracts from the text... maybe no outlines or make the blue light or pastel as to not compete with the words.
rendering intents... your vectors are set to relative or no color correction and your rasters are set to perceptual.. the transparencies are treated as raster thus render differently than the vectors.

i have tried the spray chrome and it is tough to get it right.. on a full covered car ...man you would have to be a good painter.
the surface has to be painted (black i think only) and cleared then buff and polished to a perfect slick finish to lay the chrome on .. if the finish isn't perfect...

would depend a little on how much the different types (cmyk , rgb , pms) were intermixed.... say all were in a jpg together you would have to have a compromise on colors .... if some had raster effects and gradients again more compromise, but it was say a jpg background with pms vector...
what do you mean backer rolls? i see you said you don't use kraft paper so i don't know your definition...
no kraft paper? so you don't use the take up roll on the back? and if you do how do you keep the lam that might over hang the print from sticking together?
