Do you find the 60 degree blade on non-lam and lam jobs have greater accuracy? I've never tried it, but I'm willing to if you're telling me you get better accuracy?

You could also build ONE file that has both the part that needs cutting and the parts that don't and not bother with nesting, then run it as a print/cut job and it'll only recognize the cut line on the one part. Another option :)

This is another crazy outlandish Idea too but It might be worth checking. Pull that black ink cartridge out and make sure they haven't cut the tab off the ink cartridge and that there's actually ink in the black cartridge if you shake it.

Could be cap tops....If black is printing purplish, that's not necessarily crazy. The black/blue are the same head, so somehow ink is making it over from the blue side to the black side. I'd lean toward cap tops needing replacing, but the blue seems to be pulling through the head fine. Hmmm

It'd be nice if the VS540i would run circulation on it's own twice a day....hopefully eliminating the need to manually do it before every print job. Even then, I'm not sure that'd work....that, or how about two nipples on the WHITE ink cartridge - one outgoing and one incoming. So circulation...
