  1. Take up reel from china for Roland printer...anygood ya think?

I have this one.....haven't used it once. I'd probably sell it if you wanted to buy it....I just always camp my printer to make sure everything is ok (it's a control thing LOL) so I thought I'd use it all the time and I don't/
  2. Webbing Laminator....What's your method?

hey pat there's a tension adjustment on the left side only of the laminate roll and the liner takeup rolls. I never really thought to do the short run lam jobs by just lining them up and cutting the lam to length -- i guess I thought of that as an easy way out...I really wanna nail the...
  3. Webbing Laminator....What's your method?

Sorry I meant I think it has something to do with the tension knobs at the end of the lam roller and the takeup roller, but I'm new to this laminator/larger laminating so I was hoping you guys could help diagnose what I've got going. What would you suggest based on my photo there?
  4. Webbing Laminator....What's your method?

So i think i've narrowed my issue down to just tension on the knobs of my USTECH laminator, but I'm hoping you guys can help me diagnose :) We're webbing using the fellers route in the video and every time we laminate, the first 4-6 feet are flawless, then it walks. The wrinkles are in the same...
  5. Versaworks question

God I love this forum. Learn something new about versaworks every day lol
  6. Webbing Laminator....What's your method?

I definitely got the webbing part down.......but I'm looking for some tips to keep it going on long runs. Totally new to 50+" Laminate and there's a hell of a learning curve :) I can get about six to eight feet laminated perfect, then all hell breaks loose and seems the area between the roll of...
  7. Just Purchased a New Toy!! VS540i

Bobby is THE MAN. We don't have any real problems, was just curious if it was because of the light colors we didn't have before on the old SPv
  8. New Roland VSi 540 owner

Also the print speed is determined by the profile you are using...
  9. Just Purchased a New Toy!! VS540i

The light black has been a freaking GODSEND! Incredible grey, black and white, etc. It has changed. my. life. No more fussing around with test prints and worrying about whether a customer will mention grey looking green or brown. We used to run 0-0-0-100 max impact on our sp300v and every time...
  10. New Roland VSi 540 owner

Try Oracal 3165 Gloss profile and see if that helps. I've never ever seen that before, I'd be interested to know what fixes it if it's a profile or if it's a piece of hardware. I know the solvent in the eco sol max 2 inks is quite a bit hotter so maybe it has something to do with the media not...
  11. Just Purchased a New Toy!! VS540i

Oracal 3165 Profile for almost every media we print...banner, vinyl, canvas, etc. We went with seven color + white ink configuration and the only thing that bugs me is that we can't get a real deep deep black. I don't know if it's because of light black ink, but we can't get a super solid dark...
  12. Recommendation for permanent wall vinyl decal

Oracal 3651 or Oracal 3165...both permanent and will work great if left unlaminated. The only printed vinyl wall install we ever had a problem with was laminated - too thick to grind it into the texture. In my opinion, there's no reason to use "wall vinyl" specifically for walls if it's a...
  13. Distance between "Custom Sheet" option?

Yes the page space option was what I was looking for. Thank you! Changes page spacing between sheets and also changes the distance after even a single print job so even when sheet cutting or hitting print again, the distance is whatever you set the "page space" to. 20mm seems to be good as it...
  14. Phototex Outdoors Suitability

Grimco also has their own version of phototex called rad graphix. You may want to look into that as well - they have it available as a textile (similar to phototeX) and a wall vinyl. I think they both use same adhesive, just different face stock.
  15. Roland SP-300V not printing??

right on, glad it's taken care of. Now run that baby all weekend long and make up for some lost revenue :)
  16. Distance between "Custom Sheet" option?

Are we still debating over a checkbox?
  17. Distance between "Custom Sheet" option?

You're missing the point....impact on the planet. Anything we can do, even if it's 4" at a time, to help is good. My time to check one box while configuing a versaworks print job is hardly 1 second.
  18. Distance between "Custom Sheet" option?

But now you're back to talking about wasting money...I'm just talking about how it's a waste of resources in general.
  19. Distance between "Custom Sheet" option?

Gosh the more the more and I use versaworks and look for certain functions, the more and more I miss the greyed out stuff LOL. I need to pay attention more ;) When clicking page spacing, it enables overprint 1-2-3 times...if overprint is set to 1, this is just normal printing correct? We use...
  20. Cut misalignment on XR-640

Our brand new VS540i cuts seem to be off more than our 10 year old sp300v. I have to use all pinch rollers on everything. I'm running 10mm/s slow cut speed. Seems the FEED gets further and further off as it print/cuts row by row without removing from printer...any suggestions?
