  2. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

photos final photographic proof that the chinese builders do not send you a crate full of sawdust.
  3. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

from memory.... it seems it said 8.03 when i booted it. i can check later. i'll probably start noticing some deletions later on as soon as i get more familiar with the OEM jv33 menu tree.
  4. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

after pulling water through (a gallon?) i'll run pure retarder of some sort, then ink. i need a rip for this thing still otherwise, i'm stuck. right now i have to get onyx for the CET flatbed so i'm figuring i'll run this printer on that.
  5. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

so far, media lever very crude. carriage, gangtry, capping station, pump... extremely quiet and smoooooooth. very nice. but then it is thk.
  6. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

i'm not sure if the valve system is on this printer. it looks like they went with a very conventional ink supply.
  7. my JV33 clone (chinese) gettting started

well, my jv3 wouldn't diagnose/repair so i had to punt and get a new printer. i run across this ad in craiglist for a "JV33 clone"??? i look at it printing recently on youtube and figure it looks good enough to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFEmyjl3pOk so now i have this printer here...
  8. Missing color in JF 1631

can you pull a damper, with a syringe fill the damper manually. now let the damper hang for several minutes. look to see if the ink level starts to go down. when doing an ink fill there is usually enough vacuum to allow the pumps to pull, even with a leak. also there's a trick, paint the...
  9. Who's UV printer has the best quality print

i (my new parntership) just bought dg express's used CET 6x10. after kicking the tires of every flatbed out there, there's just no way to compete on price/quality. we will be getting a Q series as soon as the 6x10 konica gets too busy.
  10. Missing color in JF 1631

don't know much about that printer. but air in the damper after install means your fittings are leaking air into the system.

  13. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

i bought it from some guy closing down his dye sub business (retiring). after a quick search on alibaba, i found the pages for this particular model. i'd still rather have a dual head wit-color. although the specs for this skycolor show THK guides so maybe it's not too bad...
  14. issues upgrading firmware

i've checked out the rear paper sensor (not during movement). wouldn't the printer stop advancing media and error? i don't know because i hacked my printer to not look for or measure media. encoder sensor has been changed out, no difference. with the loaner slider board it didn't do the...
  15. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

a brand new single head dx5 printer from china costs from $4500 to $6000 so that's about right (i especially like the mimaki buttons. of course many have roland buttons or mutoh buttons.)
  16. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

as soon as i get it in, i'll take some pictures. i wouldn't be surprised if it's half roland half mimaki. all i know is ink, data, gantry, dx5, print. the age of expensive printers is over. i bought this thing for $3900.
  17. issues upgrading firmware

unfortunately this isn't a clean/clogged issue. the printer across all channels just ceases to print all at once.
  18. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

me? i guess i could. i just got a call that the crate will be here tomorrow. odd though, i'm really not emotionally tied to this one. my jv3 is highly modified, perched between two air tables. just to finish these few orders, i'll have to knock around on this printer for a couple of days...
  19. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

sure will. i'm going to run it on rasterlink if i can get an old copy somewhere. also, think of the possibilities. say i fry something, just send the boards to macmedia, they'll recognize the boards no problem. i'm assuming the ink supply is "no chips" (yay).
  20. Mei Tu Tech Printers (DX5's), anybody using it? any comments?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFEmyjl3pOk this is the printer. should be here wednesday. talking about lack of research. i don't even know which oem makes this thing. all i know is it has to work for about four weeks. my partner just bought dg express's 6x10 16 head CET so it won't get...
