  1. What do you print on when a client requests posters

Paper poster material usually, but for longer lasting water proof posters, we print on the same material for our roll up banners, a polypropylene with the grey back.

must be nice sitting "up there" with no problems of your own.
  3. Discussion Not sure I'm thinking correctly.........................

This is kind of what we do. But it bites us in the butt sometimes. If we have someone scheduled for say 2:00, well they decide to come at 1:00. And then they expect us to drop everything and tend to their job. And they wanna wait. Which 99% of the time, they are asked to LEAVE the vehicle...
  4. ACM Hole Offsets

For what size sign? Artwork should be designed with mounting in mind.... i.e. keep important text away from edges, allow space for screws/bolt, etc... Also depends on what it's mounted to.
  5. Need Help! Heavy office signs keep falling.

Client isn't always right. Your job as a professional sign company is to advise them their "adamant" request is not going to work, and the etch should be on the inside for this application. Or you should have cut out the area the other sign goes so you are applying to glass only and not vinyl film.
  6. Question Just want to understand EPS files

With any problem PDF or EPS files, I will open in Photoshop and most of the time it opens correctly. Then I save as a .PSD with no background, and import to Flexi. Flexi will apply contour to PSD (provided the background is transparent.)
  7. Need Help flexisign help

That's object specific, not for all objects. Don't confuse the poor guy.
  8. Need Help flexisign help

    It's not a program settings change...simply a tool on a toolbar.
  9. Need Help flexisign help

  10. Decent Grommet Machine and supplies to buy???

There is a new automatic grommet press out there that a new vendor showed me. One piece grommets, looks freaking awesome. Call up Rob at Reliable Sign Supply - - 972-474-9900 I think this is the same machine...
  11. Discussion Think Tank for sign makers. I wonder if there might be any interest. I am open for discussion.

The problem is that no one can answer in real time. You're trying to create multiple topic discussions and there is no way in the world anyone can follow and participate like you seem to want. Maybe you should organize several topics and start a Zoom session. Otherwise, start a new thread for...
  12. Anyone know this Font?

Deep in the recesses of my memory banks I knew it looked familiar, remembering from my old Gerber days about 25 years ago.
  13. New PC Specs i would need for Adobe Design Software

OP did say primarily design, i.e. Adobe products. MAC or PC is fine for that. If they want it for RIP purposes, sure, PC is preferred.
  14. Sign Mounting Film?

Just use 3M VHB... a couple small strips does the trick. Don't see the need for complete coverage with a double sided adhesive.
  15. California Dreaming

Yep. I would like to hear about a HUGE break on my property tax bill, since these schools aren't using too much of the thousands I put in last year.
  16. Digital Files Head lights

What's wrong with purchasing/applying decals to existing wrap? It's quite common.
  17. Is there a simple way to do font style this in Flexi?

I tried using Text to Path which works for the angle, except you need to be able to rotate the letters, but you can't, unless you select each letter and manually rotate. So looks like you have to type and space them manually.
  18. Setting up a sheet with crop marks in Onyx

Well there, you figured it out. Although I'm not sure why you need the bleed if you're cutting to the outer crop marks. I set them up like this quite a bit, but don't use any bleed.
  19. Whats the lubricant used for the carriage rods?

WD-40 isn't actually a true lubricant. WD stands for "water displacing" and its main use is as a solvent or rust dissolver. The lubricant-like properties of WD-40 come not from the substance itself, but from dissolving components. And the effect doesn't last.
