Arlon is a really good material...very printer friendly on our latex machines. We have used certain makes of it for a number of projects. As a wholesaler, clients aren't very friendly to Arlon unless it's for certain things. 3M & Avery have the name recognition that our clients want. Getting...
We have done a few boat wraps over the past couple years...including my own and used both Avery & 3m with excellent results on both. Don't skimp on the lam...make sure its the 1380 from Avery and not the 1360 optically clear. You want the UV protection afforded the Avery or 3m lams. I don't...
If you have Final Cut from Mimaki in Illustrator...thats not all that difficult. Need to know illustrator quite well. We used that with a FX160 for years.
Hate to say it Dan, but like everyone else...Adobe being the biggest culprit, Caldera has moved towards a subscription in a way. You have to purchase V13 through a vendor or directly if they do that. In upgrading our Mac software as well, we realized ahead of time that 13 was the way to go...
Glantz or Grimco...both top notch outfits IMO. Just had one client jerking us around saying they didn't get the H stakes I had drop shipped. Grimco driver took pics of where they were left just in case. ;)

How many units are you talking? do they need to go out pre assembled? if not....have them drop shipped from your vendor to your client & ship the signs separately. Our vendor for those ships free 99% of the time and we only have to then ship the imprints themselves. Saves you and the client...
Something with a laminate. GF or 3m. Look forward to having to redo it once in a while I would imagine. Stay away from walk and wall or similar one step substrates...those would wear out quickly.
You have to manually adjust the settings in the cut marks when you rip. You can set the margins all manually to .2 inches if necessary. That will open up your print area to where you need it to be. The 8600 needs .5 or .6 inch wide marks at whatever thickness is standard. We use this all the...
Look into Arlon brand. I believe they have some vinyls that will work well against low to non voc paints. I'm not 100% on that but my local Glantz guy was trying to sell me on them with that benefit.
