You can still reset the shot count. The head rank input and the shot count setting don't interact with each other, completely independent of each other.
The Roland drivers for Onyx are not the same as the Roland drivers from Roland, which are for Versaworks. The "drivers" are actually part of the RIP software. In the case of Onyx, you can download individual print install files. The print install files should be included in your Onyx software.
Before changing the motor, try the following. First, turn off the printer on the front. Put the printer in the cleaning mode by holding the cleaning button down and turn on the power. Once the print head has moved to the other end of the printer you should be able to move it freely by hand...
I would suggest you "initialize the limit" and see if that improves things. As the caps on that printer end up at a common point at the pump, any air leak can cause issues at both heads. Initializing the limit realigns the home position of the heads exactly centered over the caps. From what I...
Move the head carriage back and forth by hand to check for resistance. If you feel any, clean the bearing guides (4 of them) and lightly lubricate with a swab and 3in1 oil. Put a tiny drop of oil on the side of the bearings. Move the head carriage back and forth by hand to distribute the oil. If...
Is the yellow in the cyan always in the same place when it shows up?
It would be good to find out if any other operators had a head crash and if this coincided with this ink issue. The damage that is caused by a head crash doesn't always show as physical damage.
You can replace the cap top to...
In addition, check the "sponge" on the inside of the caps. If this is swollen and raised up enough to touch the print head surface, it can cause a wicking action between the 2 sides of the head. For this reason, I only use Roland OEM caps. Are your captops OEM or 3rd party?
If it's a damaged head, then it's not repairable. However, if it clears up after a short amount of printing, you can create a small file to print to clear the cross contamination and then print your jobs. This will buy you some time.
I would suggest making sure the cap lines to the pump are clear. It looks like possible cross contamination, not uncommon on the SP DX4 head printers. If the lines are clogged or draining slowly, when the heads are parked, the ink touches the bottom of the heads. This completes a siphon action...
That's the downside of canned profiles. You don't know who created the profile (and every manufacture is using a different person or service), what software and device they used, how much experience they have and what settings they decided on in the sections that require visual judgement instead...
I also replied on your other thread. I would suggest you have a tech check and calibrate the upper and lower pressure settings on the cutter head (2 different strain gauge tools and dummy white pen are required). I had the same issue on a VG that was cutting random depths. When I attempted to...

The software can only work with the amount of ink you have it limited to. Increase the ink limit and you give the software more ink to work with when creating the icc profile. Now, lets say your magenta was restricted to 80 percent. You have a red calling for 90 percent magenta. It will use 90...
If you upped the magenta on an existing profile, you won't see much change, if any. You need to make a new profile from scratch with the higher ink limit.
