Having a VG540 we decided not to "upgrade" to the TR2 inks and now use Marabu TR1 inks. We were very hesitant at first, but to date, no issues and the colors are great! From what I've read, Marabu makes inks for some oem printers.
It takes a lot of abuse and cuts. Mine is 1/4" thick. You can get it in 1/8" also. Some call it rink board as that's one of it's uses. Not sure if it comes translucent...I have white. Your local plastic supplier would have it.
We have always covered our production tables with HDPE. Holds up very well to heavy cutting. Cutting mats for our smaller tables that we use for light work.
I went there this morning too see the failed vinyl. The doors have a texture similar to basic home style garage doors and the numbers were done with calendared vinyl which I feel is the main problem with vinyl adhering properly. I'm going to use cast and some heat and go from there. Thank you...
Customer wants vinyl cut numbers to be applied to truck bay garage doors. The existing letters were applied a year ago and are coming off. The doors are textured. Is there a "cut" vinyl that would work better than you standard cast vinyl? I was thinking of using a printed vinyl made for brick...
After hearing about complications with switching to TR2 inks, has anyone tried aftermarket inks such Aura or Marabu? Supposedly plug and play with no profile changes.
